FML There is a certain individual several steps up the chain from me who insists upon THREE spaces after a period on all reports and correspondence, and all reports must be written in all caps. My fingers want to detach themselves from my hands in shame. As I am a 60wpm touch typist, it has taken some doing to comply. To make matters worse, I now find myself hitting the space bar thrice quite a bit in my personal writing. FML.

 Double spacing is a holdover from the typewriter. It's no longer necessary, as very few computer fonts are monospaced. It also causes issues with digital publishing and editing. |
