May not make anyone dissolve into hysterics but I was amused by it. My sister forwarded me this email that she sent to a company dealing in background checks and verifications that is contracted by the company my sister was interviewing for. On 8/2, Paula called and informed me you were having difficulty verifying my education, Thomas Jefferson High School ('88) and Stilwell Technical Center ('88). I gave her all the information she asked for on the phone. The next day, I called my hometown schools to verify they had my information, and sent you the exact contact names and numbers to get the information you need. On Friday 8/12, I was again called by someone at your company saying they were having difficulty verifying my education. I repeated the information over the phone and she said she would take care of it first thing Monday morning, which was my first day of employment. Today Paula called again saying they were having difficulty verifying my education, and seemed to have no knowledge of the previous email (attached) or phone conversations and asked for the information again. Seeing as how I've already been working for the company in question all week and they've made me a nameplate and everything, I can only assume verifying a 23 year-old high school education isn't going to hold up my employment. However, I have found my diplomas in the 14th box I checked in our 150 degree attic, and will promptly fax a copy to you in the morning. In addition to this, if it helps, I have a couple of Polaroids of my friends and myself in our caps and gowns on graduation night at the Jack-in-the-Box, and the senior tassel that hung from the rear view mirror of my '78 Impala. If there is any more of your job that I can do for you, please let me know. Thank you, Sister's Name |
