EAG Tactical
3 Day Carbine Operators Course EAG Tactical (Pat Rogers and Crew) will conduct a 3 Day Carbine Operators course on May 09 - 11, 2009 at the Pueblo West Sportsman's Association Range. This course is about fighting with the 5.56x45mm carbine, and the training is geared toward that specific skill set. This is not a shooting course- it is a fighting course. Price is as follows: - PWSA Members $575.00 - Non-PWSA Members $575.00 + ($25 per day) range fee= $650.00 Payment in full is requested 30 days prior to the class (or April 9, 2009), unless prior arrangements have been made. USG, DoD, other organizations can continue to pay via credit card or purchase order. Contact us if you have questions. Note that the range fee (for non-PWSA members) will be collected on the first day of class (May 9, 2009) at the range by PWSA personnel. ONLY CHECK OR MONEY ORDER WILL BE ACCEPTED AS PAYMENT FOR THE RANGE FEE. To register, go to www.eagtactical.com and complete the application. Submit the application with the appropriate credentials (see below). Once you have been accepted you will receive a notice as well as lodging information. If you have any questions, contact us directly- we will do are best to resolve any issues. What to Expect: A three day class on how to fight with the carbine. This is not shooting polka dots, but is a condensed version of what we are using today. The class is moderately physical. Attendees must be active police officers; Active Duty Military; or possess a valid pistol license from any state. A Certificate of Good Conduct (no criminal record) or equivalent from your local Law Enforcement Agency will suffice. Live fire exercises are inherently dangerous. Safety violations will be dealt with harshly. We cannot afford to have an unsafe shooter in a class. I reserve the right to refuse admission to the class for any reason. I reserve the right to remove anyone from the class for any reason. Questions?? What to Bring: . A good attitude! . A serviceable 5.56mm Carbine. What you bring is not as important as the fact that it works. Having a spare extractor/ spring is not a bad idea. Bring the lube of your choice. But bring lube. . 1,300 Rounds of serviceable carbine ammunition; 250 rounds pistol ammunition. . The amount of ammunition recommended is an average. The actual number of rounds fired may be more or less depending on overall skill level of the class, weather and range issues. . A minimum of 3 serviceable magazines for the carbine. More are obviously better- the less jamming of magazines you do during the day, the more time you learn how to fight. . The carbine needs a sling. A tac sling works better, but any sling will do. . A means to carry at least two carbine magazines on your person. . If you have a red dot sight, bring spare batteries. . A serviceable pistol, with three serviceable magazines. . A holster and magazine pouch. . Eye and earpro, as well as a baseball type hat. . Water. A CamelBak is ideal, but be prepared to hydrate. . Bring food. Bring munchies as well as lickies and chewies. If you are not physically at your best, you will not be able to function safely and efficiently. . Knee and elbow pads. . Pen/ pencil. If you have questions, contact Pat Rogers at [email protected] Or Jeff at [email protected] (ZERO before the [email protected], not the letter "o") |

MAN! He shor do get around don't he?
Do Come prepared to learn from one of the best in the business, a guy who has "looked the elephant in the eye" and be sure to bring lube unless you want your carbine to smell as fresh as a daisy. Anyways Ya'll enjoy! Curt |

I've been shooting for a while now but have never had any training would this be a good class or would i be in over my head Thanks This is a great class for both novice and advanced shooters a like. This is my 3rd time hosting this class. Each class we have a mix of "never taken a class before" shooters up to advanced shooters. Hope to see you there. |

I signed up for this class last week, and I am looking forward to it. Your reviews (and those of others) on other sites were helpful.

I've been shooting for a while now but have never had any training would this be a good class or would i be in over my head Thanks I took this class last month in Casa Grande, AZ. It was the first instruction of any kind I have recieved. I had an absolute blast. I really can't say enough good things about Pat and Mike. I am still amazed at the leaps in ability I picked up in such a short time. I am already trying to swing a class this spring, perhaps this one if I can't get it together for CG in March. I was fairly worried about my lack of experiance prior to the class. I was aware of the fact that I didn't know anything. This really helped with the proper mindset for class. For me it was "I don't know anything, do whatever they tell me with a good attitude to the best of my ability." I did pull more than my fair share of MC's. Malfunction clearance skills of a man without opposable thumbs, running the modified navy qual with my earpro protecting the side of my head as opposed to my ears, etc. I did however escape without the label of "that guy". This had more to do with a good attitude than my skill as a shooter. I read a lot of AAR's and traded a few emails with Pat. I think this went a long way in avoiding issues with my kit so I could focus on building a foundation of skills. I consider the money spent an absolute value. I can't wait to do it again. |

What is the lastest I can sign up for this class? There is no dead line to sign up, but none of us can predict if or when a class will fill to maximum capacity. A majority of the classes I host fill to maximum capacity. I hosted this same class (EAG 3 day Carbine Operators Course) in '07 and '08, both of those classes filled a couple months before the class started. Something I have learned in the last 9 years of hosting 2 to 4 classes a year is you can never forcast how quickly or slowly a class will fill. I have seen some classes that fill at an even and steady rate, and others that have no or only a couple students register and then within a week the class is filled. Sorry I'm unable to give you a more definate answer Take care and be safe |

I just signed up for this class and I'm very excited. I do have one question....what is the exact address of the Pueblo West Range? I need to do my 5320.20 form to bring my SBR and I believe I need the physical address.
|
|
It's on Loma Drive....I don't know if the range has an actual physical address or not.

It's on Loma Drive....I don't know if the range has an actual physical address or not. Just to follow up for those coming from out of state. I filled out the 5320.20 form to bring my SBR to this class. In section 7, where it asks for the address where the NFA item will be transported to, I put "PWSA shooting range, Loma Dr". This was acceptable to the ATF and they approved the form. I'm looking forward to the class. Thanks for your assistance. |

More pics from last week's class:
Sorry for the delay in getting pics up. Work has kept me extreemly busy the last few weeks. Awesome class. Weather was a little cooler than usual, but I didn't get soaked or sunburnt, so I'm not complaining. Great group of students, great instructors, top shelf training! Looking forward to doing it again in May 2010!!! As the host of the class I'd like to take a moment and thank the following companies for supporting EAG Tactical, training classes, and the shooting sports. These companies donate a lot of gear that is given away as prizes to the students: www.aimpoint.com www.blueforcegear.com www.slip2000.com http://www.sprinco.com/tactical.html www.tangodownllc.com www.vikingtactics.com www.xssights.com Special Thanks to: www.bravocompanyusa.com www.laruetactical.com and www.magpul.com At the start of training day 1, each student received a bag of free gear from Bravo Company, LaRue Tactical, and Magpul (approximately $150 - $200 in free gear). Each student also received 3 Magpul PMAGs. I can't say that I've been to any other classes where a student recoups approximately 1/3rd of the class tuition in free gear on the first day of class. It was nice to see industy professionals from Magpul, XS Sights, Henderson Defense, and Extreem Gear Labs in the class as well. Mapul's Dr. Drake rockin' his LaRue Stealth 16" (it was good training with you again, Brother): XS Sights' RRTX (Justin) layin' down the hate from the prone with a Colt 6940: Pat and Mike ....... Thanks again for making the trek out west for the 3rd year in a row!!! More pics to come, stay tuned. |

Good people and more heart than most. |

And to think of the number of people who whine & complain about a blister or kneeling on a rock. I hope she gets that taken care of & gets back to normal (sounds like she'll be in the game regardless) soon.
