When you hit the state line stop and take a picture under the sign expressing your love for Il Duce. E-mail it to his account with an explanation.

The military buy back has pushed me out to 3 1/2 years, but the wife wants to buy a place now so we have a definitive plan upon exodus.

I am truly happy for everyone who gets out of theis shithole, congrats!

I am still working on a Texas angle, but we are talking probably a year or so away, at least.

Still, I am hopefull that someday I will do as Natty suggests and as soon as I cross the state line into PA on my way South, I will stop, get out of the car and give the finger to NYS and say fuck you very much....

Have fun in Free America!

I was lucky and had a friend in the area scoping out houses with a Realtor for us.  Realtor.com was the website we primarily used.  We ended up getting  anice Brick home that I normally could afford the taxes on up here in NY-istan.  Taxes observed were 1/5 or more what they are here for property tax.  I also used google maps to locate all the local gun shops and ranges - way more than we got.

We used zillow.com. They also have apps for iPhone and iPad. You can save a search and you will get daily email updates of properties that go on the market in the area.  That and we had a local agent on the hunt in the areas we were looking at.

Nice area, one of my buddies who moved to GA is in that area. I'll probably be in Forsyth County, gf needs to be close to her job.

I refused to stay here another year.  Things progressed very quickly the last couple of weeks.  We were doing online property searches for weeks and had a long list of houses we wanted to see.  By the time we got there that list was down to 10 from our original due to houses going under contract before we could get there.  Our realator had another 10 or so on top of that that came on the market recently.  We got there Friday the 4th and looked at 10 houses, then the rest on Saturday.  We basically saw all the houses in the area that were for sale in our price range and by the end of saturday we had it narrowed to 2 houses.  We made a decision that night and had our realator draw up the purchase offer and had it in Sunday AM.  When we got off the plane Sunday night I had a voicemail infoming me that we had a signed agreement in place.

So now the whirlwind of all the things I have to do starts.  Today is phonecall day!  Lenders, movers, home inspectors, etc, etc.

Time for a moving sale, as we are downsizing!  Lots of furniture, furnishings won't be going.  Lots of lawn and garden equipment, MY SNOWPLOW!!!  All getting sold.

Then of course I have firearm/ammo inventory to blow out.

It will all be worth it in September.  I already have plans to meet up with some of the GA HTF to do some shooting.

Good plan. I've gotten rid of a ton of stuff over the last few months to make the move easier.

I've been at it for two years; problem is I loose sight of the end goal by "restocking" and getting more  shit  stuff.

Just got rid of both my Harleys in the last few weeks. I'd rather have the cash for them instead of paying to ship/ride one or both of them down there.

What was really strange is how many NY refugees I met since acquiring my home.  My home was a foreclosure and I needed some repairs and painting of the entire interior and I am still in NY.  My realtor recommended a painter.  and coincidentally he is also a refugee from Gates NY.  My Handyman was from Hilton, NY.  Both of which said they would never go back to NY for a variety of reasons, but spoke of Taxes/weather/gun laws/jobs in about that order.

The reverse underground railroad out of NY has begun!

Taxes and home prices were the main factors for me, the Safe Act was just the icing on the cake.

I would say Taxes and home prices being the biggest factors. Jobs just go along with that, even having a good job you're maintaining....hard to get ahead especially if have a family.
