I was at the farm this afternoon and a Osprey flew over. I saw it out of the corner of my eye at first and for a split second I thought it was an A10 which is a rare bird for these parts also. It flew directly over me and I have to say it looks just as strange in real life as in pics. I just wonder what in the world it was doing at Campbell?

Probably a normal cross country training flight. Or one of the crew lives around here and is visiting home. Crews do that and knock out a cross country training flight at the same time.

A few spooks based out of Ft. Campbell. Could be cross training between services?

My guess with just one, they were making a pit stop between point A and B. They could've been doing training but doubt it with just one.

I drove out to Bliss with my son this weekend.
Just as we were pulling into the base, 2 of them flew in......my son said "What the &^%$ - those guys never show up in the daytime". This was Friday, about 4pm.
Unknown connection?

FYI. Campbell Airfield is also one of the largest airfields in the region, so they do get some traffic. Seen the Space Shuttle there a couple times.

It's not in use right now. Unless they stopped at Sabre airfield, they were just passing through.
