Back when I was a kid (18), I worked with Dr. Broun's father in the State Senate.  Really nice guy, who served his constitutents well for a very long time.

I voted, no lines. Also, I drove my wife to vote, and we both agreed!

I like a win-win runoff. Also, in most areas of this district, when are you going to have a choice between two Republicans?

Off topic to follow:

I really liked Paul Broun Sr. He is missed. I went to the capitol one day to discuss an issue with him, and he took me in, let me watch discussion and a vote from the floor, and we had our picture made with the Lt. Governor. He was excited that a citizen from his district had come to see him that day. That, and his politics, won my vote in every one of his elections.

I never did like the little SOB who finally beat him, and his character showed when the little SOB threatened a 16 y.o. girl.

I was there at 830am, no lines either.

Broun looks to be leading.

Seems overall very pro2nd, hoping he wins

Dr. Broun IS very pro 2nd amendment, and our new Congressman. A decent shot with a shotgun as well.
I don't think Whitehead would have been bad for us either.

So what is the result?

Broun won, but there will probably be a recount,as the result was less than 400 votes difference between the two.

I spent some time speaking with him over the phone and via email during last year's legislative session in Georgia.

The guy is very solid on the right to keep and bear arms - more so than the NRA.

He will be a good addition to Congress.

Mr Broun came by our gun shop in Augusta today. He wanted to thank folks for their support. I never truly trust a politican but he and the late Charlie Norwood are the only ones that  visited the store or the local gun club. I think we could have done a lot worse.
