Just wondering how many GA members are AK(47/74) owners?

I am new to the dark side and am looking for local ATL source for mags and ammo (*if that is possible).

I bought a MAK 90 from a guy in the store but I came to my senses and sold it. I really don't need to get started with AKs too.

I went to the range with my AK for the first time in over a year yesterday.  I don't know why in the past I really didn't enjoy shooting it that much.  I had an absolute blast with it yesterday.  I took two "newbie" co-workers with me to the range.  All they've talked about for 2 days now is how "bad-ass" my M4gery and the AK were.  I think I enjoyed it more yesterday because my buddies LOVED it.

AK-47s are very cool and inexpensive to shoot. I love my WASR-10 and the rifle cost less than my EOTech sight!

Can you guys post your AK pics? I'm the visual type

Stick to the net to find mags and ammo.  The Georgia gunshows suck for AK's.  Expensive ammo, no parts or accessories and way over priced 10 year old AK's.  I've given up the shows for a while, tired of seeing preban guns still trying to be sold for twice the value a new gun.  I don't know of any shops other than Bernies in the north metro area that sells any decent AK's.  Last time I was there he had some VEPR's and a couple SA M7's in stock.

Just read the post about Bernies not selling guns anymore.  Sorry for the bad advice.  Strange, Bernies was almost always packed with people purchasing guns, I don't believe they were not making money.  Oh well, more reason to use the internet and an FFL holder to purchase guns.  Get better prices with the net anyway.

Hell yes. I have a chicom preban AKS (62 model), a self built AMD-63, a Yugo SKS, and have the parts and receiver for a AMD-65. I do not , however, own a poodle shooter (AR) except for a Armalite AR-7.

Nope.  I'm too into the ARs.  I might one day get an AK, but for now the ARs are sucking up all my funds.  I actually would like another FAL before getting an AK.

I can change that w/ one groups shoot!!!!!! (BTW - I love my ARs too)

I have a few.
InRange AK74 .
Sar 1  Laminate stock
Arsenal USA Polish AK47 ( SSR85B )
Arsenal  SLR 101S ( Milled )
Sar 2 ( 74 )

I have had decent luck with ammo at georgia shows. $100 for case of 74 ammo. And $80 for a case of 47 ammo. From Classic pawn none the less. LOL...................
I got to shoot the REAL DEAL while serving in the U.S. ARMY. We did alot of desert training and had hands on with Soviet weapons. Got to shoot the AK47 in full AUTO.... It was rather enjoyable to say the least................................ WarDawg
