This girl I've been seeing mentioned she'd like to go shooting. I just moved up here so I don't know anything about the ranges and what the options are. Anyone have any good recommendations? Preferably indoors with a good selection of rentals that aren't insanely expensive. If I can bring my own factory ammo then it'd be a huge plus, but I know most places don't allow that.

Give Hoover Tactical a try. The owner is an arfcommer, Popsmurf I think.
Anyway, they have a damn nice indoor range and good folks running the range side of things.

Alright, I'll definitely look into them, thanks! Any idea on rental ammo prices? The range in Montgomery charges something like $28/50 9mm. As long as it's not something insane like that I'll be happy.

I have had good experiences with the FOP range in Pleasant Grove.

+1 Hoover Tactical if you are looking for rentals and indoors. It can get crowded sometimes on the weekend but they have very nice facilities.

Never been to the Hoover Tactical range....may have to check them out too. I need to find a range now that I'm back into shooting.

I never have had a good experience with Hoover Tac.

I was a member with HTF for a couple of years until I found FOP.  Granted FOP is an extra 20 min drive for me, but I prefer the outdoors.  HTF is kind of loud so its hard to have a conversation and teach someone unless its just a few people shooting.  FOP is slightly cheaper too, however they only have a handful of guns to rent.

I guess its easier to do a pro and con list

FOP:  Pros:  1) cheaper 2) outdoors and more room
Cons:  1) kind of far for me 2) not a huge selection of guns to rent

HTF:  Pros:  1) cleaner 2) indoors 3) wide variety of guns to rent even Class 3, I believe 4) archery range is there now too
Cons:  1) more expensive 2) since its indoors its louder 3) weekends get super busy sometimes 4) closer if you live near the galleria area

My last few experiences there sucked too.
