We can use this thread to list and discuss, I'm willing to edit new legislation into the OP as it comes about.
Sampson is great! |

My heart started beating like I saw a marching band of bald eagles escorted in a parade of monster trucks while guzzilng a pair 24oz budwizers poured into my mouth by two sexy Hooters girls that had pockets full of CCI minimags when I read that list.

Glad to see some pro 2a legislation being proposed, not holding my breath on passage or even being signed by the Governor, but maybe. Will have to pay attention to the hearing schedule for possible testimony.
Not to hijack the thread but this one caught my eye: Proposed H.B. No. 5023 REP. LESSER, 100th DIST. 'AN ACT CONCERNING THE BUYING, SELLING AND EXCHANGE OF SNAPPING TURTLES', to promote full legal equality for Connecticut's snapping turtles. REF. ENVIRONMENT |

A question for the wiser - JAD, sbhaven, GardenWeasel, Modrapos, conndcj etc;
What can we do to help these Sampson initiatives along. Surely, sitting back, feeling good, and talking about them online is not enough. I want to get involved, and I want to make others get involved, too. Im tired of defeat, but not so tired that I have lost the desire for victory. Its time to push back. What do we do, collectively, to push these along. I know nothing about politics (but Im pretty good at strongly worded letters ). Thanks for putting this list together, sbhaven. |

Then start the process all over again with all the legislators so they see that the people want the "good" pro rights bills passed and not the anti right bills. But as we saw with SB1160 even pro rights politicians will stab us in the back. Our major problem is that Malloy wasn't booted last November so any anti rights bill that lands on his desk will get signed and chances are he'd veto any pro rights bill. Any veto of a pro rights bill will probably not be overturned by the legislature. |

First step is to know who your Representative and Senator are in the state houses. Then you have to call tihier offices and speak to their secretaries. Tell them where you stand on specific issues.
Second is emails, they are quick and easy but also easily ignored Third and most important is you have to show up and testify. And these things are not on weekends. You are going to have miss work and show up. It's that important. |

We just got him in.. I am glad he spoke at our rally's in Hartford. I wrote a not so pleasant letter to mr sear that I would do everything my power to have him replaced for voting yes on BS gun ban. And that's exactly what we did. We now have two strong 2a officials in my district. Now if we could only get Courtney out, that's my next mission. |

Surprised no one yells foul about the first proposed bill from a Representative Fritz.
A Temporary Restraining Order, is a.k.a. An Ex Parte Restraining Order, right? That is based on accusation by the person seeking protection by the Temporary Restraining Order, not necessarily based on fact but accusation before the accused has had the opportunity for an official hearing. That hearing may result in one of two outcomes, nothing or an actual restraining order requiring disposition of firearms. So this jackass Rep. fritz is proposing that a TRO should require the subject (accused) of an Ex Parte (Temporary) Restraining Order must dispose of firearms pretty much immediately, even before the Hearing where the whole accusation which justifies an actual restraining order may potentially be thrown out. Many divorce attorney file an Ex Parte (Temporary) Restraining Order as normal paperwork in a divorce. My buddy called me one day, while he was shitting bricks because a state Marshall found him at work and served him with divorce papers and an Ex Parte included. He was totally blindsided, scared, had no idea. Brought his entire gun collection to a very understanding FFL. His wife dropped the whole bullshit and he went back & picked up some of his guns, sold or selling some others. Now suppose if I had been in his shoes, had a salt weppons, was subject to a bullshit law that may have been passed by jackass Rep. Fritz in 2015. Then let's say that I felt required to transfer my collection out of my name just to comply. Then let's say the wife drops the TRO and then I go to reaccuire my gun collection, and I can get it all back except for my a salt weppins, because there is no way to transfer them back to me under Current CT law. Am I pontificating this in a way that gets anyone riled up? Am I wrong completely or in any way? |
