The NRA Range is located at the rear of the building, on the north side. Bear left as you enter the parking lot and go toward the rear lower-level parking garage. 50 yard range. Place: Jefferson National Forest range outside of Blacksburg, VA.
Facilities: Covered area with 10 heavy shooting benches and about 20 yards of open grass for prone shooting. 100 meters max range. Also has a separate shotgun range. Parking for about 20 cars max, not including the shoulder off the paved access road. 2 handicapped spaces. Fairly spiffy brick outhouse. Directions:From Blacksburg, take Route 460 West. Look for Jefferson National Forest sign. Make the first right after the sign. Range is 200 yards on right. Pandapas Pond Park is on the opposite side of Route 460. Allowed: Just about everything, including full-auto. Bring your own targets and frame stands if you have them. Please do not bring trash to shoot. |

This is a great range if you are in the Charlottesville area. Rivanna Rifle and Pistol Club P.O. Box 3246 University Station Charlottesville, VA 22903 It is located in the 1500 block of Old Lynchburg Rd. in Albemarle County about 4 miles from the City of Charlottesville. www.rrpc.org The range has an indoor pistol range with about 20 lanes, outdoor trap and skeet, PPC range, pistol range, plinking range, and 100 and 300 yard rifle ranges. This is the same as Chickahominy range ,It is free to the public , very nice setup, It is undercover and it is setup for benchrest left or right handed shooters, also has handicap parking and ramp.

Ranges are open daily from sunrise to sunset, except Wednesdays when they are closed for maintenance. Facilities are not available for hand-guns. I am here at the edge of Fairfax county and Prince Williams. I shot at the IWLA (Izaac Walton League of America Arlington/Fairfax chapter) private range. 20 outdoor positions for pistols and rifles (all types). 25, 50 and 100 yards setup. 4 outdoor ranges for skeet and trap. 1 indoor range for air rifles. Huge wooded area for camping and fishing (big lake). Membership range from $125.00 (Single regular) to $190.00 (Family regular) a year. Me and 7 (arfcom member) we shot there. |

"Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area"
District 2 - West Virginia, Berkely County. State owned public Camping, Fishing, Hunting area with firearms range. There are seven shooting benches with a maximum shooting distance of 200 yards. NOTE! As of this date (12/29/04) The local ranger has restricted the range to non semi-auto weapons! I have no info concerning sidearm restrictions, if any. The reasons for this restriction are not quite clear at this time. For additional info, I would suggest contacting the wildlife management office for that area. Directions from VA: Take I-81 North to exit 5 (rte 51) Inwood/Charles Town West Virginia. At the stop sign, take a left onto rte 51 West. Follow rte 51W for approximately 5 miles until you come to the 4 way stop signs (end rte 51 junction rte 45). Go straight across rte 45 onto Buck Hill Road. Follow Buck Hill Road for approximately 2 miles until you come to the stop sign. Bear right at the stop sign (Buck Hill Road/Shanghai)follow Buck Hill Road for another 2 miles until you come to the next stop sign. Go straight across road onto Hampshire Grade Road. Follow Hampshire Grade Road for approximately 4 miles. The road to the range will be the first dirt road on the right after the WMA sign. The sign (range) is not always there. Bring your own target stands. For more specific contact info go to: www.wvsportsmen.com/ranges.cfm Be aware that they are having problems with people leaving and shooting at trash (glass, plastic bottles, car doors, etc). They allow paper targets as well as steel silohuettes/plates. This trash could result in the range being closed! Please pick up your trash when you're done. Steel Plinkers at 100yrds and 200 yrds as well. Shot there for the first time the other day. Great range, I will be going back on a reg. basis. Yearly dues are $70 Daily fee is $12.50 for non members. No Caliber restrictions Spotting scopes, staplers supplied. Nice covered shooting area with benches on all lanes. |

Yeah the VB Outdoor Range is in the middel of a really nice renovation. It looks great.... The last time I shot there before I moved the wall, and 10 yard plinkers had just been set up. I had a blast shooting the 100yd steel plinkers with the Ruger mk2..... My buddy Matt who is a lot better with the pistol than me was shooting the same target with a 1911..... That 230 grn bullet was so slow you could accualy see it fly through the air at that range.... really cool!
