Well, my two buds who were gonna come with me both have to work...they work at the same agency, which is moving offices between floors, so they both have to be there.  Bummer...

At this late date, anyone from No. VA heading down there?  I might still go if I can hitch a ride, or find some folks who need a ride.  Anyone?

Alright guys and gals, I am leaving work early today to go down to Staunton.  I will be picking up what I can for targets.  Hopefully the M-I-L has gotten some good stuff in for me.

See you all at the range.

Oh my aching back.  I just about finished loading up my Jeep and the back is sagging an inch or two.    I'm sort of glad I only bring all this shit 3-4 times a year because it sure is quite a job.

Sheesh, pumpkins aren't cheap.  49 cents a pound and I tried to find some light ones.  Well, I have one medium size and two small ones to shoot at.

I'm kicking myself for missing this shoot. The last one was awesome.

Please post pics Guys, especially of the FA and the .50's.

Next time for sure.

Just got back from the shoot and had a great time. Thanks to all the guys who let me throw some ammo down range out of their FA's. I got some good vids of people going full auto, some great tannerite explosions, and what it looks like when a .50BMG API round meets a half inch steel plate. I'm capturing it now, then I'll start on compressing it (unless you guys want to download the videos at their native 25Mbps), so it'll probably be monday or tuesday before I get them online since I work tonight, tomorrow, monday, tuesday, and so on and so forth.

Thanks!

Wow, what a day.  I figure at least 500,000 dollars worth of full auto hardware there.

6 or was it 8 cases of tannerite up in flour.

I have a few photos, not many but I did take some video and I'll see if I can figure out how to mpg it up.

Shivan,  that was fun punching holes in your steel plate.

VERY good shoot.  Had a lot of fun, it was good to see everyone again.

If you have never seen a gallon jug full of tannerite go off, you missed out big time.

Hey all,
Thanks to everyone for a great day.  It was a well needed stress reliever for me.  A special thanks to 7, Ross, and 556ammo for letting me play with the toys.  Hope Barrett treats you right with that 50 Jason.

Now I have a winter project of sorting out the brass that I picked up.  Next time I think I am going to bring some tarps and make it easier to collect up the brass.

Again, Thanks, you all are a bunch of great guys.

Jason, that really sucks about your Barrett.  Should have bought an Armalite.  Let us know if they treat you right.

So far I have spent over 1 hour trying to clean my AM180.  22lr is so dirty.  Lead is everywhere in the barrel, I couldn't even push the cleaning rod through.  I finally got a bore snake through after tying it off to some 2x4's framed in my house and pulling with all my might.  It is still dirty.  Guess I'll have to run a snake thorough it every 2 drums.

My 1919 is still all disassembled and while taking it apart I think I broke the sear spring in the bolt.  Oh well, I have spares.

Looking forward to another one in the spring.

Photos like this?   I have some but have no place to host them.  I hate all the 'free' sites which eventually have you pay.  Here is one Ross took and a link to his photos.  Ack, no eye protection.

Oh man...that looks like FAR too much fun. I guess it's a good thing I had to work that day, otherwise the grin would be permanently imprinted on my face!

Great pics, 7. That's certainly a lot of hardware...I had no idea that Class III stuff was that widely available in our glorous commonwealth, much less that so much would show up. I guess it's time to start shopping for my first subgun :)

Soooowhen's the next one, so I can show up and introduce myself properly?

I sent my barrett off today,I had a nice long talk with them and they have very good customer service, I was told it was the ammo I was using [TALON]but I disagree,so I sent them lots of brass casings and the one that fired out of battery in the gun. also did anyone get any pics of the TANNERITE going off? No photos, just a movie of the tannerite exploding.   One awesome boom.   Someone from here asked for my video but I lost my USB drivers so I can't figure out how to get my camera connected to my PC.  Emailed Sony and hopefully they will send me new drivers.  Their website sucks.

Jason, are they going to fix it for free it will it cost?

when you get that video ,I would love to get a copy.Idont know what barrett is giong to do, it is still under warranty ,if it cost me I will contact talon ammo company. [email protected]

Finally got around to uploading the vids (ripped/edited the same day), so here they are.

members.cox.net/jeyles/vids/AR50.WMV
members.cox.net/jeyles/vids/full_auto.WMV
members.cox.net/joethesinner/vids/tannerite.WMV

Hope you guys enjoy, my favorite is the tannerite vid.

edit: had to take the tannerite vid offline for a while, with it there i was .01MB below my max on my cox account, so it was causing funniness (404's or stopping halfway through). it'll be back up later at a different spot.

edit*10e-2: Ok, tannerite vid is back up at a different location.

I have some pretty good video, only Sony won't let me download the TRV840 USB drivers.  They say I'd have to purchase the software again.  Fuck that.  Oh well, unless I can find some software to pull the movies off,  only I can watch.

That one huge tannerite explosion was pretty kewl.

Finally found the software for my camera.  I took some video and made a small movie, about 1½ minutes.  Uploaded it to my site and I'll leave it there a few days.  Save it if you wish.

Hey 7, nice to see you got my best side shooting that 60. Anyone got any idea when the next one of these shoots is going to be? I'm hoping its before march, because thats when I'm leaving for Korea (but hey, if things keep going like they have been, I might get the chance for more full auto time over there than most people would ever want.)
