If only we were Mo, but still get to keep all of our teeth and not have to interbreed.

I don't know about that.  Have you been around some of the more cut off areas in extreme southern IL?

I visit and hunt in very rural southeastern Mo. very redneck, but also have not yet met an asshole either.

I agree.
I worked in St. Louis proper for seven months in 1999. The only thing that kept us (me and my FIL) out of serious trouble was the fact that the locals thought we were "the feds". They liked to say it within earshot so that we would know they were on to us. I guess two clean cut white guys in a green truck with magnets signs that said "Contractor for AT&T" on the side seemed suspicious in that area. We didn't tell them otherwise. They thought we had guns. We wished we did.

My original comment was coming from the angle of the crap we are dealing with right now.
I'll stick with IL if I can keep my indoor plumbing and not have to bath in the river.

Seems to me those big city people look down on others in the state.
This goes for St. Louis, Kansas City, and Chciago, etc.
I was raised and live in a small town in Illinois.
I prefer it to the big cities with all their crowding and crime.

I like southern MO. the people seem to be more polite, friendlier and more kicked back and relaxed.
I live in a small town in Illinois (pop 1700) and almost everyone keeps to themselves here.

Swmbo and I had looked at buying some property and moving to MO. several years ago.
Wages weren't enough to live on , so I'm stuck in Il.

Beautiful country, friendly people, peaceful, ah, I guess I'll just have to go on dreaming.

You gotta love it when they close the schools for a week during deer season so the older kids can go hunting.

I just realized that I should send my pic to my mom too. She was born and raised in Belleville, and lives in Collinsville now.
