Hey, Nevadans, I just wanted to apprise you of the upcoming Ninth Annual Gun Blogger Rendezvous.  I've been to all of the previous eight events, and they've been a lot of fun.  Once a year Gun Bloggers, gun blog readers, gun writers, shooters, gun association folks, and industry representatives from around the country gather in Reno at the Silver Legacy Hotel & Casino to visit, socialize, compare notes, discuss everything firearms related, and get in three range days covering everything from long range rifle, steel shooting, defense, and more. At the Gun Blogger Rendezvous there is something going on from breakfast to well into the night! 2014 will be the Gun Blogger Rendezvous’ 9th Anniversary.

The Rendezvous will be raising money for Honored American Veterans Afield (HAVA) through a raffle of firearms and shooting sports items donated by our sponsors. The firearms and more valuable items go into the fund raising raffle.

We also give out a large number of door prizes and promotional items to our attendees. The door prizes usually include a wide range of promotionally branded items such as hats, shirts, pens, mouse pads, and anything else that will help to promote the sponsor’s name. The door prizes also include less expensive items and products such as books, cleaning kits, product samples, and so forth. Our sponsors, in return, get a lot of positive Internet exposure through the Gun Blogs and stories about the Rendezvous.

Some of our past sponsors have included Ruger, Gunbroker.com, Gunauction.com, GLOCK, Cabelas, MKSSupply/HiPoint, Crimson Trace, Comp-Tac, Springfield Armory, Dillon Precision, Pro Ears, GunUp, Leupold, Burris, Brownells, National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), The NRA, The Second Amendment Foundation, and many more. (I apologize to anyone I forgot to mention, as I did the list from memory.)

Last year we raised approximately $4,500, and this year we hope to do even better. Every penny we can make from the Rendezvous goes to HAVA.  So if you've got the time, check out the site and the links.  It's a lot of fun (watch the videos!), there's some great swag to be won, and guns are among them, like this Ruger Mk III.

Hope to see you there.

I'll be there, I've been meaning to attend the past few years but am always out of town when this happens.

I've been to this before.
Missed it the last couple of years.
Need to know the live-shoot day so they can try out some of my products.

I'd be interested in putting up some targets for the shoot day.  Never mind, going to Alaska. You boys have fun without me.

Need to know where they will be doing the shooting events.
Washoe County range is a PITA, they demand "Your papers, please" for NFA.
As an 07/C2 I don't have the "Papers" (F4 & tax stamp) they expect to see and have no desire to argue with the ignorant.

Hopefully if the venue is Pyramid they have a private range reserved and we can avoid dealing with the ignorant?

Also which days for live fire, I really cannot attend all four days.

I don't have time to get away and won't have anyone to send this year.  If there's an oppurtunity to display some of our new products up there, you can raffle them off afterwards.  Drop me a line if you're intrested.

The "Shoot what you brought" day is Friday the 5th.  We shoot International Steel on Saturday.  (Handgun only.)

Actually, on Friday we shoot at the County portion of the Washoe County Range.  On Saturday we use the pistol bays.  I think you're in communication with Mike on this.  We've shot shotgun in the pistol/action bays.  I don't know what restrictions they may have there, but I'm pretty sure something can be worked out.

Range report.

I also attended the Saturday fundraising event for Honored American Veterans Afield (HAVA).
Missed out on the big prizes but got some decent swag from the door-prize drawings.

Next year will be their tenth anniversary.
Make plans now to attend, I expect a much larger event and more manufacturers demonstrating their products.

We'll, that was fun. Going to take awhile to do a good write up with the air races and everything else.

Thanks to both of you for coming and bringing the fun stuff!  I'll get a more extensive write-up done in a few days.

A short after action report.
