Winston_Wolf,
I have'nt been able to make any of the other get togethers but I'll try and make this one. I was able to get to the first shoot last year and met alot of people. Gavino |
If there is TANNERITE involved ill be there. Also will be At the GC shoot in ..... 7 hours!
Winston, they need to give you more work to do at the Apache plant. Way to much time to be making these fancy invitaions. We missed you at CG! Mike |
Very cool presentation WW. love the map I'll DEFINITELY be at this one!!! |
Just sent one up to Daniel Tanner. He is one hell of o guy. Great person to work, and deal with. If you havent already you should gve him a call some day. Ask him about the 5 gallon bucket of floor sweepings they shot at 300 yards. The phone number is on the beloved bottles.

Milage wise, its about 95 miles. Take AZ 77 past Oro Valley. Then take AZ 79 up to US 60 "Florence JCT". That will get you in the general area. Ask "Winston_Wolf" for a map. |

hey cyraxx777,
i'll be leaving from OV about 6am saturday if you want to follow along. i know right where to go. drop me an email or IM if your interested. |
... As of late, there's a "slim" chance I'll be stuck in Manhattan during the event. If so ya'll gotta take pictures and let me know how it went.
... Tryin' damned hard to make it home by then but my trip got postponed a week, so .... ... Nevertheless, if you need a map to "Afghanistan" IM me. |
Geeze, I tried to get to Rio Salado from the East side today and it was impossible. The Superstition Freeway (Hwy 60) is closed for the entire weekend for construction from Greenway to Ellsworth. That left Southern also jammed solid. I hope they do not do this again on the 22nd or it will take forever to get through. If it does happen, those coming from the North probably should use Usary hwy to get through Apache Junction. Anyone know if it will be closed again and if there is a good way around it?
... Some of you asked for "The Map" whilst I was partying in Long Beach this past weekend. I told you I would send it when I got home. Sorry, I forgot to. I don't have the map on the Company laptop here in Manhattan.
... If anyone out there has a copy please send it to our Hometown bretheren that request it. Please don't post it on the Internet though. ... AI won't be able to help until I get home on Saturday. ... Thanks! |
Got the map, thanks to all of you that jumped in to get it to me. thanks, Dan
Is this site near Queen Valley by the way? I could use a map as well.
Thanks, |
... One of you fellas I mailed a map to step up to bat. My concerns about an extended stay In Ney York came to fruition this afternoon.
... If I'm lucky, I'll be home the night before the shoot and I don't have a copy on the Company machine here. ... I still hope to attend myself, but it's "iffy" at best. |
ok, the last 4 guys looking for a map have been contacted by email. if anyone else needs one email me.
Thanks, mr_h! My first attempt to send the maps failed.
I'm not worthy! [>Q] |
Thanks much for the map. I'm still not sure if a normal car is going to be okay getting there. Input?
I am also planning on making the shoot. It is still on for November 22nd? I will also need a map.
... Yes it is still on for November 22nd. I don't have a copy of my map on the Company laptop here in NYC. coyote3 has been kind enough to e-mail his copy out to requestors. ... "If" I make it, I'll literally be flying in with just enough time to throw together some Tannerite and ammo. This project in Manhattan is really starting to haunt me. I thought my part here was done one month ago. ... Arrrrgh !!! |
So what time will everyone be showing up there on Saturday? Ie, what time should I get there?
MIke |
... at the last biggie Tannerite meet we had operatives camped out the night before Mike.

I hope to fallow a guy from Tucson. WW thanks for the map, but My computers MS word is Kaput!! so I lost it and I have not yet got it up and running.

Looking to see if any DMG members are going? My father inlaw and I were made honorary members at sp.crator. we wanted to know what kind of beer to bring?
As far as I know all of the DMGers will be there. Not sure the times all of us are getting there. Gregg doesn't get off work until midmorning so our clan will show up around lunchtime. Some plan to stay after sundown too. Also, if you are interested we will have some DMG hats for sale - at cost.
As for the beer - some drink Bud and some drink Bud Light and some of us like to stay sober. ;o) Oh, someone early mentioned could a car get back to the area - Yes. I have driven our minivan back there. Just go a little slow over the rocky areas. Lastly, if anyone needs a non-Word document map email me offlist - I scanned one we drew up as a jpeg. It works well. Theresa aka Mrs. DoubleG |
... Woo Hoo! ... I just gotta get home by Saturday! |
Anyone else planning to camp out? I'll go as long as I won't be alone. It's cold and I don't wanna be the only one fetching wood.
AND, if someone could send me a map, that would be swell. -luke |
I don't know if it will be closed again this weekend but if it is there should be sign warning you well ahead of time. In that case jump off any major road such as Val Vista, Power, Greenfield, etc. and head south to Guadalupe or Elliot ( skip Baseline...it'll be packed )then take a left and head east again till you get to Signal Butte or Ironwood then turn north jump back on the sixty eastbound and head on out. Do not try to access the freeway via Meridian...it does not connect. |
Only three more days! I'll be there. I'll bring the girl along if she can wake up this time. You never know, you might find me camping out friday night too.
Steve |
Slight change in plans for me...I will be showing up but due to time constraints ( in other words...I have a date ) I can't bring the grill along...so no burgers this time....BUT I will still be popping in EARLY...like around 5 or 6 am....just to be a weiner...I drive a jeep wrangler with square headlights...
sooooo A: do not be afraid...( like any of you guys would be ) B: for God's sake, don't shoot me...I have to go to a concert and my date will shoot me again if I miss it. |
Shoot you again!?!? |
... Michael Jackson? ... J/K, sorry man, we'll miss you. Luckliy, I worked my staffs and my asses off here in NYC these past two weeks, and I'll be flying back home tomorrow night. ... I'd say, everyone coun't on being on your own for food this trip. I would normally have helped desertmoon with the BBQ but our schedules just ain't gonna allow this time. |
I'll try to bring my gas grill and some burgers. I won't be able to feed everyone. If you bring your own food your welcomed to use my grill. |
... Yes, the abandoned gypsum mine foundly nicknamed by ARFCOMers as "Afghanistan". See ya there this time? |
I didn't see this thread until tonight. If I can talk Lot-Turd into sleeping the night before rather than playing online games til sunrise, we might get out there.
Who has the maps? |
Same here. |
Well then, I guess I'll just bring along a couple dozen brats to throw on those grills for us along with buns and some mustard. |

I was hoping to see Winston Wolf and his 50bmg, anyone know if he is going to be able to make thia shoot? Any other 50's coming? I am trying to eyeball a few 50's with hopes of getting one in 2004.
Not sure if I'm going to make it camping or not now. I may just be late.
