Two dead mice behind storage area. The two corpses have been removed. Stinky!

For little critters these guys stink!

How do I keep them out? Mice with tuft on the tail. Field Mice?

Sounds more like a pocket mouse. Evil little bastards, they are. I've never found a 100% way to keep them out, but trying hard not to give them hiding places helps. My cats loved playing with them.

long ears? if they have long ears and tuft on tail it's kangaroo mouse.

Kangaroo Rat. They are very common and all over Arizona.

unless your place is airtight they will find a way in. they can get in through the smallest hole, probably 3/8" or so. i used the little victor traps and that worked.

Poison bait is the best solution. To prevent larger animals from eating the bait I cut 2 inch PVC pipe to 6 inches long and put an end cap on one end. Put bait at far end of tube and place them around the inside & outside of your house.
When I first did this I went thru two large bags of bait. After that the baits stay untouched and my pack rat problem ended.

Walmart sell this.
