My can started backing off after a mag. I decided to rethreading the barrel to 1/2 x 28 so I can use my QD yhm wraith XL can. I don't have to worry about it backing off. |

I'm buying the same adapter to use on an Omega 9k (when I can find one). My plan is to cut a small notch in the adapter so the tab will retain it. Why remove something rather than using it for its intended purpose?

It doesn't look like a Rugged Obsidian is going to become available before 41P.
Is there a consensus on what suppressor fills the bill with the Scorpion best overall? |

You're saying the issue is the manticore 3 lug? I don't really understand what you're saying I don't think it was a problem with the manticore mount. Not enough information to say what the problem was because it was only 1 person's comment about their mount. Could've been the mount, the suppressor adapter, the poster who installed it etc. I've never run a 3 lug, which is why I ask the question. I wasn't sure how common a problem this is in 3 lug adapters. |
|
|
Could be any number of things. One of the issues with 3 lug setups is possible tolerance stacking issues. You have the factory threads on the gun, the 3 lug adapter, the 3 lug mount, and the can itself to contend with.
ETA- I have the TROS 3 lug adapter and it works fine. I also bought the manticore one but have not had a reason to change them out. |
|
|
I am doing my research but at this point I am planning on doing a direct thread Form 1 and I will set the can up for 18x1. Figure if I don't like it I can send barrel off to be rethreaded or get an 3 lug adapter and use one of my other pistol cans.

I was waiting for the Dead Air Ghosts to become available for my pistol can but my dealer never got any in. It's still a possibility before 41F though. But if I were to form 1 a can, on a scale of "1" being assembling an AR to "10" manufacturing your own handgun. How difficult is it? There seems to be a lot of guys out there doing this now. For the right amount of money you can buy comes and end caps and tubes and then just drill yourself. $350 + stamp for a badass custom F1 My ears are perked up. I'll move my questions over to the Suppressor Forum. But this sounds very promising. |

I will probably end up getting my barrel threaded instead of using the 3-lug adapter. The Octane 18x1 (Scorpion Evo) fixed barrel adapter will supposedly fit the Optimus in pistol configuration. Interesting. Thanks for the tip! |

I wouldn't stand in front of a piss-filled supersoaker. Does that make it a good pistol? - Caboose314
