Maybe everyone is asking but I will go ahead just in case.

Why is it that the 556XI parts can be switched to operate 5.56 Nato, 300, and 7.62 x 39; yet the 7.62 x39 model will only be in 7.62 x 39 without the caliber swaps?  Shouldnt there just be one upper and then you buy the other parts to make the conversions?  What am I missing here?  Also will there be 3 barrel lengths for all the calibers?

Thanks in advance.

The 7.62x39R version will use AK mags. If you buy that version, you'll need barrels bolts and lowers to use Sig or AR mags.

There is just one upper really. The only difference in the upper is barrel and bolt, which can be swapped on all models.

For the lower the 5.56 lower can use 5.56, 300 BLK and 7.62 with STANAG mags. But the Russian lower will only use the rock and lock AK mags. That is the restricting part of the Russian model, not the upper. If someone made 5.56 rock and locks you would be able to convert the caliber of the Russian model, but I don't think anyone does.

As for barrel lengths, they have not said anything about it yet as conversion info isn't something they are talking about yet. But I would assume they would make teach length for each caliber.

What about Beryl 5.56 mags? Would those work?

Isn't the dimension of the mag different? Isn't it closer to a 5.45 mag than a 7.62x39 mag?

I dunno I'm just spitballin'. I know there are quite a few 5.56 AKs out there, and I figured those mags might work

Maybe Promag can make a conversion mag that won't work and CTD can sell them for $99.99 each. LMAO!!
