4320 is likely too slow to get high velocities out of your rifle, but if you want to burn a lot of powder, go for it.
I use H4198 or H322 in my 450 Marlin. Powder choice depends on how mad I am at my shoulder. |

I use IMR-4198 in my Marlin 45-70 also.
I have used IMR-4320 in my .223 AR (55gr Sierra HP .700" 5 shot group at 100 yards) and in my M39 Finn Mosin Nagant (150gr Hornady SP .312" dia. shot very near MOA) I got the powder in a package deal. I never heard of it before then. I guess its one of those good old school powders.

I got 4320 for $18 a 1lb bottle in a deal. It isn't ideal. I've been using it with 7mm mag and some plinking 300 win mag loads.
I am using it cuz I gots it. And it's a cross over powder. |

Whoop! That's a stout load. No pressure signs but it is a recoil heavy load.
Might have to do with how deep I had to seat the bullet to get it to feed in my lever gun. Compressed a bit. |
