I may be wrong, but I don't think there is an official "full auto only picture thread here." Can we start one here if not? Aaaand go!

Topic Moved. The "general" forum is, well, for general questions and issues. The NFA firearms forum is the place for pix, etc., that do not fall into categories covered by the dedicated forums (M16, SBR, etc.).

It only takes two or three minutes to take the sear out of the pack. And I think it would look a little weird bringing an entire HK trigger pack with all the paperwork to an ice cream parlor. And so help me I use that photo every time I can.

My Valmet 223 mags are $200/250 I was having people offer me mint and beat up ones for anywhere from $400 to $900 each. Then an old timer who has been collected MP44s and FG42s since the 60s and has plenty to spare offered me these for a very good price (compared to others), so I had to take it. I've got three mint Nazi era mags, and that's plenty at these prices. I paid less for 21 Colt Thompson stick mags. |

How well does it run? I'd like one for my sear as well. 100% after some T/E. It likes polymer mags (Magpul and Tapco), hates metal mags. I have a Promag 73rd drum for it but havent tried it yet. I was getting alot of light primer strikes. Was told it could be bolt bounce, so I purchased a new bolt claw spring and it still ran the same. I was using a used rifle hammer spring and decided to try a new rifle hammer spring and saw they also sell an extra power spring, so I bought it instead and it runs 100% now... lots of T/E and range trips, but only 20.00 in parts.. Its a slow shooting gun compared to the HK53 and MP5.. Embeding skilz are lacking.. |

Sick setup man! Any suggestions on convincing the wife the benefit of investing in machine guns vs actual profit based investments? I feel like she is going to come to the argument with some really valid points. I just want to be ready. It is a simple case of supply-and-demand: The supply was fixed on May 19, 1986, and has been shrinking due to losses (fire, theft, etc.) ever since ... but demand has been increasing exponentially. The machine gun market is much like the classic fast cars of the '60s, or like beachfront property ... they ain't making any more. Meanwhile, while the number of wealthy people may not be rising, the amount of $$$ they have available for fun investments is growing exponentially. A Colt factory M16A1 that cost $800 in April 1986 hit $2k by 1994 (when I bought my first) and now is worth $25k, even if you shot the daylights out of it the whole time. Unlike stocks or bonds, it's an investment that you can have fun with. Try getting that much investment return from a boat or motorcycle. Of course, I always counsel folks to not look at them as investments, because their value is an artificial one imposed by Congress. Tomorrow, Congress could open the NFA Registry back up for new MGs ... or could follow Canada's lead, and make existing registered MGs non-transferable, even to heirs. Either way, you would lose your investment. However, Congress could equally "nationalize" 401ks by seizing your savings and issuing borrower's notes in return ... so no investment is 100% safe. Your Mileage May Vary. |

I bought a NIB M11/9 last year for $3200, it looks like $5500 is the going rate today. My ROTH certainly isnt performing like that. |

Youve got a couple options... 1) Put together a lot of good info on their investment return over the last few decades and their potential for the future. Be sure to not mention the cons of MG investment such as that the slightest changes in laws could instantly make the firearms worthless. 2) Dont treat it like and investment, instead treat it more like a sports car, motor cycle, boat, vacation home etc... This obviously only works if you have a easy going wife and lots of disposable income so not an option for everyone. It also helps if you are the main bread winner in the house. 3) If the MG is not to expensive just slowly save money on the side and eventually you will have enough and you dont need to ask for permission. This is the route i took, my wife would s**t a brick if she knew how much the MG cost. So I used money from bday/xmas saved over several years, Im a part time NRA instructor, I sold a pistol and some ammo during the gun panic of 2013, i resell items on ebay and craigslist for meager profits and thanks to my dads advice i put away a private stash of cash prior to getting married. |
