Looking to dive into the full auto.
Found 2. So what is the difference between the MAC 10A1A and a Cobray MAC11? Which has the better aftermarket? Replacement parts? Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

I believe this link will take you to most of the information you need to know between them.
http://www.mac-11.net/catalog.htm Edit to add in this: RPB M-10/45 The M-10 is what the M-11 is based on. The M-10 has a stunning 1,100 RPM combined with the .45 ACP in a package only about 1 ½ times larger then a M1911 pistol makes for an impresive amount of fire power in a small package.. In stock configuration this gun can be dangerous to those with out experience shooting SMGs. The fact that you have to hold onto a front strap that can swing around and a factory stock that can collapse on you while shooting means you have to be really be careful or else it could “run away” from you. The M-10 is much larger then the M-11 series because it is chambered in the powerful .45 ACP cartridge. Depending on the type of M-10 (some early models are more collectable) they can range from inexpensive to expensive for a "MAC". Surprisingly the M-10 is of better quality and feels more “refined” then the M-11. The M-10 has a good number of accessories that can correct some of its shortcomings but they are primarily grips & stocks. Overall this gun is a very impressive bullet hose with some customizability. In stock configuration it can be scary to shot if you do not know what you are doing. |

I had one with suppressor for over 20 yrs traded it for an M1a glad to be rid of it. Save the tax stamp money NFA guns are a pain if you ever move to a different state and BATFE has very liitle sense of humor even with cops who own NFA crap a nice M1a is a lot more fun.

The MAC-10 can be used in .45acp or 9mm calibers which is nice. The MAC-11 is smaller and lighter and 9mm only. You should check out the Lage Manufacturing products, they have uppers that can slow down the rate of fire and have been very popular with MAC owners.

|
I went and looked at both of them today. The MAC 11 is on consignment for 3200, the MAC 10 is 4000.
I am leaning towards the MAC 11, its a SWD 11/Nine, and was in great shape. The MAC 10 is FA only, the 11 is selectable. So I'm going to fo Thursday on one of them. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

I went with the M11. Lots of aftermarket parts. Lage manufactoring makes a lot of goddies for it. I am on the list for
th .22 conversion. |

I am about 3 months away for the .22 conversion.
so if you get on the list for the conversion, then by the time you get your stamp should be good. |

M11/9 with Lage MAX11 upper is the hot setup... Better than any MAC10 setup IMHO.
|
|
M-10 is built better hands down, and has the extra OZ to prove it.
M-11 has more aftermarket support hands down. This guy is waiting (day 90) for a NIB RPB M-10/Nine that he paied $2500. I would not pay more then $3K, You can easliy find NEW old stock guns in that range. |
|
Well, what do you want to do with it? Honestly owning both of them I find they are equal with each other.
IF you are willing to do work you can pimp them out quite well. M11 can fire or be converted (fairy easy) to shoot, 9mm, 380, 762 tok and 22. M10 can be setup or converted to shoot (fairly easy) 45, 9mm, 762 tok, and 22. Plus various ways to slow them down with either LAGE or Task style conversions. My M10 is currently setup in 45 with a lage slowfire upper. My m11 is shooting 762 tok (fingers crossed) but can shoot 9mm with an upper swap. IMHO if you get one at a good price just snatch it up. Also keep in mind if you just want shoot a slow 9mm and not play around with conversions and the such. Save your cash and buy a transferable UZI. Mags, and the such are just easier. |

If you're going with the Lage upper, you could save money by getting a used M11/9. You really don't gain anything from a factory new one other than pay a premium. In fact, to use the factory upper, you'll have to spend money on a new buffer since it has deteriorated (not expensive but definitely replace it before using the factory upper). All you need is the lower and any is fine as long as it hasn't been modified (i.e. Sten mag conversion, etc). Used M11/9 come with all sorts of accessories but all you care about is the lower. Factory zytel mags aren't worth much since they have a tendency to break at the feed lips. Modified metal mags from other SMGs what you want to run with. If you go zytel, Lage also sells feed lip upgrade kits.

How much do the mags usually go for?

There is an M10A1, which is a 9mm or .45 M10, IIRC made in Texas.. Also, you want to pay careful attention to the city and state. The name "Military Armament Corp" was not just located in Powder Springs, GA. And as you might have guessed, there are differences in each. A Powders Springs has some diffent parts than a Stephenville, TX model. For example, the Texas models have the safety in the trigger guard.. ala Garand or Mini-14. I recommend browsing and poking around the M10 forums on Uzitalk. http://www.uzitalk.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=82 Wealth of knowledge to be had there. I also highly recommend Frank Iannamico's book "Submachine Guns of the United States of America". |

It started with I.
Something like Ing or something along that line for the name under it. I'll be going back tomorrow evening. If the deal is good to go on the M11 I'm going with it, and get the Max 11 upper. I have pretty much every gun I want except a Saiga 12 and a Garand. But I have the cash to get into full auto which is higher on the list then the others. Also selling my Ninja 250R to fund the other guns I want and to do the Max 11 and 22lr conversion. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Quoted: Quoted: DAY 1 Started the process today on the M11/Nine Best choice in my opinion. Get on the Lage waiting list for what ever you think you may want. http://home.centurytel.net/bucktim/Ebay/2.JPG Yup, thats what im looking to do. The gun is NIB, the person who bought it was not able to get CLEO sign off in the county beside of mine, but mine does. Thats why you have to research before you move. |

You are gonna love it. during the wait get mags, ammo and Lage upper.
I purchased mags from usmachinegun.com they have worked good for me. |

Im selling my motorcyle to fund some stuff, for the Lage upper, and .22lr conversion too. I can't ride cause my knees kill me on it, and well, I dont like dodging cars. So I figure I will sell that and fund something else. |

I just sold my two dirt bikes to start a M16 fund.
I figure at 46 I need the M16 more than a dirt bike. |

Personally, it's about all I can afford to fire, unless it's my own reloads. I'd avoid anything underpowered as well. If the load isn't enough to lock the bolt back on the sear, you'll have a runaway bullet hose. You did remember to keep the weapon pointed downrange, right? |

I'd avoid anything underpowered as well. Valid point, but I have to to have that occur. |

I have been told to becareful of the +p stuff. depending on the type, I would avoid. SWD M11/Nine....no. I would not want to. M10/9? perhaps. but would recommend keeping to a minimum. I've used Hirt +p+ in mine (M10/45 with 9mm conversion kit) when it was single digits in North Dakota. |

A buddy of mine is looking at a SWD M11/9, like Tactical Innovations still has NIB.
Is the $3750 a decent price for it? |

I envy you guys and your toys
Have fun with it OP. I have been looking at a Mac 10 for my college graduation present to myself. |

I really hate waiting.
Been cruising websites for a wish list of items. I will call next week to see how far along the paper work is, 54 days left maybe. I'm going to order mags and stuff after I sale my motorcycle. A guy is coming Saturday to look at it, if he buys it, I will start buying up ammo and mags. Number 408 on the max 11 .22lr conversion, about 6 month per Lage, the Max 11 upper in about 5 weeks. So everything should be getting in about the same time. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Ask for Anton. |

Lage had the Max 11 flat top upper ready for me.
Should have that by next week. Over 2200 rounds of ammo. Going to order mags in the next couple of weeks. Figure by the time I get everything ordered and shipped I should have 5000 rounds of ammo, 10 steel mags, Lage Max 11 upper and a side folder stock for it. Might as well start the process for a silencer. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |
