I've been using a PWS MK110 since 2016 (and it was old then) as my duty rifle until I left LE last year. It's been a great rifle and handles all kinds of ammo suppressed or not and has been thoroughly thrashed between riding in racks and all the classes it's been to.
I was disappointed when they announced they were discontinuing the pro line but depending on how this turns out and what happens to the Mod 1 line as a result, this may be even better for the community. |

Image from @B320 in the GD section.
The ambidextrous bolt catch/release looks to be the same as the ACR, it's even in the same location as on the ACR rifles. |

Oh man. Wondering what the price will be. I'd be very interested in the .308 variant.
|
|

Weight will be the deciding factor for me too. I run Bren2’s now and really like them but the lack of spare parts kills it for me. If the UXR weights about when the Bren2 weights, then I’ll buy one on day1
|
|
|
I am also interested in what the weight and MSRP will end up being. The market the UXR is entering is quite competitive. This one seems to be one of the only ones that can easily go from a small caliber to large caliber fairly easily. Question is, how useful will that be used. Probably just run it setup for one particular caliber the whole time.

For 5.56-length cartridges you're still dealing with a 308-length action.
I fiddled a little with a bore evacuator concept for the AR, someone else had the same idea it seems. |

Good price for the .308 variant. On the street it should be around $2,100 or so. Obviously they use the same action length to be able to swap between 5.56 and .308, but I wonder how the 5.56 option will do as it's more expensive than similar offerings like the CZ Bren, IWI Carmel, and Robinson XCR.

Wow. Watched the video. This is a very feature rich rifle.
Some notes from the video: * Truly multi-cal: Sounds like barrels will be available in 5.56, 300 BLK, 7.62x39, 6mm ARC, 308 Win, and 6.5 Creedmoor. Magwell can be swapped out to take STANAG mags, AK mags for x39, or SR25 mags for 308 and 6.5. Swapping calibers is as easy as changing the magwell, bolt head, and barrel. * Non reciprocating side charging handle can be swapped to either side * Butt stock can be made to fold left or right * Long stroke gas piston with 3 settings: Normal, Suppressed, and Adverse * Barrels made in-house by PWS. MOA accuracy is achievable. * Upper is serialized. * Caliber conversion kits cost around $500 and come with bolt head, magwell, and barrel/gas system * 6.8lb * Takes AR grips and AR triggers. Comes with a Triggertech trigger from the factory that is set at 2.5lb. No mention in the video of what the barrel is (CHF, chrome, nitrided, etc) |

6.8 pounds for the 16in 5.56. Honestly about a pound lighter than I expected.

PWS doesn’t make CHF barrels but they make one of the best traditional barrels … in-house. |

I have to say that from the first post I thought that this was an interesting concept but didn't exactly have high hopes just because of how often cool things never materialize but the level of, for lack of a better word, transparency they've shown on their website and in the video above, actually has me REALLY interested.
Although, they already bumped up the MSRP to $2650. |

5.56 to 300BO or 7.62x39? Cool, I guess.
5.56 to 308? Ladies and gentlemen we have a MF’ing winner! HK was developing a gun that could do this but seems to have given up since Germany went 416. I’ve been saying for years the next generation rifle will fire 5.56 and 308. Hopefully they make it in FDE. Black is lame for a modern wunder rifle. |

I'm really liking this! Have had a PWS SBR for years and will need one of these UXR's in FDE.
When and where can I order? Would probably want the 14.5" 5.56 depending if I can mount a sandman suppressor on it but assume it'd come with a PWS muzzle device. |
|

It looks good. I’ll be interested to see some actual buyer reviews.

Even better that one is even .308, at that price. |

I'd like one in 6mm Creedmoor.
Maybe I'll get a 6.5 version in a few years. |

Very cool. I’ll wait a bit to be sure the bugs are worked out.

The most exciting thing about this rifle is that it's made by PWS. They have proven over the years that they have REALLY good staying power and that the items that they produce work. They're a pretty large OEM for other companies and they've had a handful of collaborative projects with Foxtrot Mike (I think) and Brownells (BRN180).
If anyone can produce in quantity and maintain quality standards, I really do believe that it will be PWS. I really like that they're producing the vast majority of the gun in house. This means that they're going to be able to quickly fix issues as they crop up. IF they crop up. I would be really surprised if there are issues with the guns but you never know. They said they've been developing this rifle for what, two years now? I'm really curious as to what the shorter guns are going to look like when it's all said and done. The upper rail may prohibit the use of really short 300 blackout barrels which is a bit of a bummer but as long as we can get an 8 inch barrel in there i'll be pretty happy. That's pretty damned cool. |

It is what the ACR should have become ... WELL DONE PWS!

I'd shoot that!

I dig everything about it but the stock and I'm sure the aftermarket will provide, even if it's only a 1913 adapter.

I wasn’t excited until I watched the interview from Guns America. The designer worked for Desert Tech and Sig (gay). There are some truly innovative features, such as a massive 4” barrel trunnion to ensure accuracy and repeatability, a TITANIUM barrel trunnion to reduce weight, internal steel rails for the carrier to ride in, interchangeable mag wells instead of stupid mag well inserts, the Abrams-style pressure chamber to reduce back pressure and recoil, stock that folds to either side, and ambi NRCH that also acts as a forward assist.
I really hope this isn’t a turd. Way more than we ever expected out of the ACR. And the 5.56 rifle is sub 7 lbs!! Attached File Attached File Attached File |

Is this short stroke piston, or the long stroke like the normal PWS offering?

The Beretta ARX had a short stroke that acted like a long stroke. I think they called it a constant contact short stroke system.

They want to capitalize on the reputation of PWS’ long-stroke piston system but this isn’t quite that. The designer was very honest in describing the differences. |
