It's under rifle accessories/rails. Still only see the magazine and lasers as the only thing available on the US site. I'll definitely want the charging handle extension. I could probably do without the pic rail, but if it's cheap enough, I'd probably get it anyway. I'll be picking up my ARX in a few hours. Will probably be able to hit the range on Friday to put some rounds through it. |

Picked up the ARX today. I really like this rifle! Some of the controls are quite stiff, and the trigger is a touch heavy, but it breaks real clean. I field stripped and pulled the barrel. Holy shit it's stupid easy!
Definitely need a longer buttstock.. probably 1-2". I don't like the BUIS. I'll probably remove them and put on something more AR. I like the KAC sights, but they are kinda pricey. I'll probably end up picking up a 1-4x illuminated reticle scope some time in the future. I also think I'll get the front bottom rail when it is available, and try an AFG on it. I think I'm really going to like this rifle. I wish it were more popular. Hopefully prices come down a bit and people will be more willing to try it. I bit at $1200. I think lots of people will as well, and probably more even lower. I also got to check out a Tavor in person at the Fun Store. I've never seen one in person. I liked it, and it fit me really well. The lack of ambidexterity is a drawback to me. If the Tavor had the ARX's ejection flipping system, I'd have bought one of those instead. |

There is no plan to produce a .308 conversion for that ARX-100, it wouldn't become feasible anyhow.

Highly unlikely the ARX platform could host a longer case cartridge like 7.62x51. The ARX should be able to host any cartridge the AR platform can. If barrels make it out, I wouldn't mind having a 12" in 5.56 and would probably try a 12" in 300BLK as well. 7.62x39 would be nice as well, but I wonder what is needed to accept AK mags like I've seen in videos. Seems to me it would need its own lower with a AK style mag catch. I'd also like to see a nicer trigger available. That would sweeten up one of the sore spots with the rifle. I don't think the trigger feels bad at all, it's just heavy. |

The only reason I haven't yet thrown down for it is because I was waiting to see if the A3 upgrades like the enlarged HG vents & a cheek piece that were rumored in G&A review article would come out for it. I'm crossing my fingers SHOT 2015 will reveal some product improvements, but then, I still haven't even seen the QD sling mount option that was promised. |

There's someone around here making some out of kydex. I couldn't care about larger vent holes. I'm not shooting full auto, and the weight savings of 0.000004oz wouldn't be noticed. 7.62x39 stuff would be pretty nice, but it would definitely be more than a barrel swap. Bolt and lower would add cost. I'm not sure how much I care about QD sling mounts... I'm sure I will more when/if I ever shoot in 3 gun or tactical carbine matches... I'll probably just rig up some QD mounts with the standard sling points. I think I've got the hardware stashed somewhere to make a full QD sling. |

The problem is that Beretta has said that Cerakote voids the warranty and regular paint quickly wears off. Dipping wears off nearly as fast as paint only when applied perfectly. I have absolutely no need, whatsoever, for a black rifle in Arizona. None. I don't buy black rifles anymore. For the same reason I don't buy white wall tires anymore either. They are both obsolete for my uses. |

If the Tavor had easily switchable ejection and a swappable charging handle, I'd have bought one. Roommate is a lefty, I'm a righty. He wouldn't be able to shoot my rifle. Not a HUGE concern, but it's a real nice capability. I may eventually still pick up a Tavor if I ever have free money, but for now, the ARX will fill the roll of a "lightweight carbine" for me. It'll be my primary HD rifle. |

I got to handle one today at the GS in Ft Worth. Schramms had it for $1240 cash. Something about it just didn't fit me right but it looks like a fun toy. The Tavor is also kind of weird for me to shoulder but also looks fun. They kind of reminded me of FN FS2000. Someone once described the FS2000 as like holding a tuna. I do love other options though.

Wow just read thru the entire 47 pages and attached videos!
I picked up my ARX today for aprox. $1550 OTD. (got tired of waiting for the FDE version) Few observations (most have been noted) I have watched Tim's evals on the Milltary Arms Channel like a 100 times in preparation 1. Controls are stiff - infact my hands hurt from handling it the last few hours-haha 2. Charging handle seems lil small. 3. The so called "BUIS" leave a lot to be desired its like they were built by Playskool, for a $1900 (list price) rifle when i consider what came on my KAC SR-15 E3 or my other higher end AR's. My POS 551A1's BUIS were even nicer (only complement to give it). O well I will toss them in the drawer. I also have a 16" Tavor with a Larue /TA31RCO so I will hold off on the comps until my ARX IS decked out in similar fashion as my Tavor and has loosened up My question is...has anyone attempted to order the lower pic rail cover like Tim has in the MAC video off the European website ? Any place offering any parts & accessories yet? |
|
|
Dennis, I think some guys at the Beretta forums found that the European site has no option to ship to the US.... they have the rail and the charging handle extension, but we can't get 'em here.
MAC was likely sent one special by Beretta because he was reviewing the rifle. Free advertising for Beretta. As soon as both options are available in the US, they're going to sell a lot of them. |

It would be lot easier if Berretta USA would just bring in a pallet load of goodies from Europe.
I don't understand why they appear to be dragging there butts on this stuff, I am going to call them first thing tomorrow and do a little investigating. If they sent one to Tim they might have them hanging around the plant in Maryland.

I'll be "that guy"--how about a bayonet lug? The military versions of the rifle have them, don't they? Not for nothing, but the 18" Tavors come with them, and it is not like IWI wouldn't have sold a crap ton of 16" (or 18" for that matter) without offering the lugs.

I just handled one of these in a gun store last week. A bit heavier than I would have expected--well--not really heavy, but not Colt 6720 light if you know what I mean. The one thing though that really stuck out to me was how STIFF the safety was...are they ALL that stiff??? I can't believe they ship out that way. Maybe they loosen up over time or something?

BTW, I did get one of LOS's cheek risers. His CR6 model, at 1/2" height. It's PERFECT for the stock BUIS, and the Lucid HD7 I have on my rifle. The BUIS end up absolute co-witness with the HD7, which is an AR height sight. I'd say LOS's cheek riser in 1/2" is what you want if you want a better cheek weld. Best $30 accessory so far! I need to get some good pictures of it on my rifle... been busy with the roommate moving out and getting ready to do the same myself in a couple weeks. |

View Quote A colt 6720 has a pencil barrel and no piston system and still manages to only be a few ounces lighter than an ARX, which has a fairly heavy profile under the handguard. If you profiled the ARX barrel like the Colt it would probably weigh the same or less. My ARX SBR is the same weight as a 6720 but has the heavy barrel still. |

All the accounts I've read from guys who've converted to SBR universally indicate that the gas ports must be resized. The preference is to mod the gas block so that "S" is set to function with a can mounted & resize "N" for normal/unsuppressed use.

Thanks for sharing, listen at 1:13 he says available by end of Q1 (first quarter) Looks some much better as an sbr, would be nice if he mentioned the PIC rail cover or other accessories.

With the barrel that short, the dwell time is basically shortened by about 85%. The ARX has two Gasport, so it's a little more complicated than a standard AR15. The correct order is to shorten the barrel, enlarge the rear port only in S mode while shooting suppressed, then enlarge the front port only in N mode while shooting unsuppressed. Then N will stand for non-suppressed and S will stand for Suppressed. |
