So I can for sure now put a vertical forgrip on my ar pistol as long as its overall length is greater than 26 inches?

Yes. From the end of the buffer tube to the end of the muzzle. You cannot measure it with a muzzle device or arm brace installed. It has to be a fixed, 'permanent' length.

So IF I want my build to legally be a pistol due to ridiculous state laws about not having a loaded rifle in the vehicle, I should keep it under 26"?

Cold Blued my receiver, after prep work from 100 to 5000 grit sand/polish

Now I just put it together and wiped it down with microfiber, the barrel is brand new from remington its a rem-choke. So later ill put some flitz on it and get some of my fingerprints off of it....it has a mirror polish.

Under federal law 26" doesn't make it a rifle. It makes it a firearm. A stock is what would make it a rifle. I don't know your state laws so you may want to check into it more.

Hey Stickman,

What colors are you using on this rifle?

I really like how it appeals, from what I can tell, to the woodland type of environment. This would blend in quite well up here in the Northeastern Pennsylvania woods.

Romanian WASR 10/63, before the staining and coating the wood looked awful.  Stock coloration matches the handguards, just the way the light reflects off of it.

3 coats as directed by the can, next time it will be 3 coats and I'm going to try baking it too for a more durable finish.

Edit: no clear, because all we had at work was gloss no matte or flat

How orange is this in person? Definitely looking at this for my SPRish build.

It's way more orange in person, it looks like a flat metallic orange. My next build will be done in metallic titanium blue.

That's  nice man, one of the nicest ive seen in a while, people tend to forget the original purpose was to camoflauge not make it look super cool, some of these defeat the purpose.

Thanks I appreciate it. Never really been into the perfect patterns, more into the filthy looking camo with overspray to blend it and get rid of the sharp edges of the rifle. No stencils no sponges I just sprayed from different distances and with different pressure on the cans

Savage model 298 pump 22 short/LR

This customer had this gun in his boat for years and years and he didn't want to do a total refinish (remove all pits, polish, etc..), but like an idiot I didn't take before pictures, but here it is after I cleaned up all the internals and cold blued the receiver and barrel with just enough sanding/polishing to get rid of all the rust.

Pics of both. They're basically done. ..for now. I swear. Combos of DIY Gun Skins, rattle can, and hydro dipped(Liquid Gunworks). Don't want to do the grips. Might lose the awesome rubber-ish feel of the MOE+ awesomeness. Plus your hand should always be over it when it counts.

The .338 Lapua and the .308AR were done and posted before.   The midlength and 20", I painted yesterday.   Alumahyde II, black, dark earth, coyote, and desert tan.   Sponge painted.
