Here's a few I've done over the last year. I love the pine straw technique and alumahyde II.
My guns get used. Either for squirrel hunting or blasting at the range so I don't care about super clean, no scratches paint jobs. Once it's worn out, I just paint over it.

First is my beat up old M-4. The pics make them all look grey but the primary color is tan and OD green.

My 15-22

same gun, no flash

My daughters Savage MKIIF. Really love how the 3D efect turned out on this gun.

Got another .22 drying in the garage right now, will post pics later.

we've been doing a lot of Kryptek camo lately...  it is has been a pretty good pattern and provides both depth and dimension.

Very nice!  A camo pattern that actually blends in well and doesn't make the rifle stick out like a sore thumb.

I use Rust-Oleum Specialty Camo from Wally world. Degrease rifle, tape all that needs to be taped. Shoot the rifle with a light base coat of Khaki & re-apply till you have a uniform finish. Light coats are important, they dry very fast when painting outside in direct sun & you will avoid runs plus the texture produced is great, grippy but not sticky at all.

Once base coat is done cut up strips of burlap (I use the duck blind burlap material - also from Walmart). Using burlap as the stencil, hit different spots with brown, green & black. Then blend by "dusting" the rifle with all colors for the preferred tone. I think it's the light dusting/layered approach of multiple colors that really makes it effective, the color shift with lighting/environment changes is pretty impressive. Once you have the pattern looking good dust rifle one more time with khaki for a final blend & then shoot with Krylon MATTE finish clear coat which will help with wear.

And since this is a pic thread:

Posted this up in the Recce thread. I have to say- I spent a little more time on this rifle than I did on my work rifle... but this one turned out pretty well. Fishnet stockings def. make the difference. Ill try to get a few more shots this weekend when we are out shooting.

Some of you may have seen my thread a month or two ago about duracoat and cerakote. Well I started off with just doing some test runs on a few AR15 mags with duracoat. Stepped it up and decided to do a woodland pattern on my Saiga furniture. Since the gun was black, I wanted it to be the main color rather than the green/brown of the traditional duracoat. I used woodland tan, woodland brown, woodland green, and matte black. I think it turned out pretty nice since it was my first time. It's no professional job but it looks good. The only thing I don't like is being able to feel where I had the tape/stencils down. I need to work on that.

I screwed up and forgot to get good pics, the owner was in a hurry, and I literally had to assemble it while it was hot, while waiting on overnighted parts.
I'll have better pics later. Magpul Flat Dark Earth Cerakote and Graphite Black Cerakote.

It kinda sorta works. It was from when I was learning how to braid 550 cord so it was just a project to practice on.
