The PL has not been released yet (due to distribution changeover from LDI  to Steiner, but coming very soon we're told) .  The PL was and is designed for a handgun and the switchology will be cumbersome to use with a long gun.  LDI is designing more Class 1 gear in the near future as well. Presently  The I2 may be a better choice and we have a Torch Pro combo that clamps into the I2 using our Unity hub seen HERE

The CQBL is a compact unit many like to run on their SBR's because of it's size and the lasers (red only) and the IR laser are slaved.  Your question about green vs. red lasers...Green Vis. lasers are seen a bit better because  your eyes are most sensitive to the color green. Red out to 20-30 yards on a BRIGHT sunny day, while green out to 40-50 yards on the same bright sunny day.  Green lasers are better temperature tolerant nowadays, but begin to flicker well below 0 deg F., while red are still the most stable in very cold environments.  In 2009, direct green lasers were announced that would be much more efficient in cold weather, but we have not seen too many manufacturers using this new green laser just yet. My guess due to some costs and battery consumption.

Edit, my caveat about the visible laser ranges are based on civilian legal 5mW systems. not their restricted DBAL counterparts where a Vis green laser (30-50mW) diodes can be seen out to 200 yards on bright sunny day!

Not sure, but in an indoor range unless the lighting was super powerful, you should at least see 25 yards with the green Vis. laser.  Was it maybe on low? I know we got LDI to incorporate the hi/lo feature in 2013 so wondering if you actually had the laser on low?

If not, get that laser back to LDI for a look see, something may not be right.

It has a lot to do with eyesight as well. It's not a guaranteed able to see at a particular distance kind of thing. If you have near sighted vision issues like I do, you may find it harder to see.



Ensure you are using a fresh quality battery as well. I know the units come with batteries, however, I don't personally use any batteries that are included in anything I buy, unless they are proprietary. Also, when the batteries start to go dead in those units, they can sometimes flicker, and sometimes be severely underpowered.
