There have been several threads in the past; here is a chance to consolidate current concepts for the topic.

Ballistic rig on the left, scout rig on the right.  The plates are both bolted down to keep from changing position, with the top strap minimizing stress on that joint, as well as providing a very convenient place to ty-rap the Guardians.

The MSA rig is balanced on a styrofoam mannequin head with the PVS both up and down; it is like that on a real head as well.

Edited to add a couple shots with the CSM bracket:

Updated with the do rag replacement pic.

Latest mods...some paint and an M600C/KM2:

I ordered one from Spartan Village last week and I guess he is behind. It will hide the wires and give me a spot for the Manta.

I sent my JPC to a well known maker of tactical nylon and had them replicate it.  Crye is too big/important to take my civilian money, so I found someone who wanted it.
This isn't a knock on them, they just don't give a shit about you if you don't have a long tab or at trident.

Crye Precision? Did you call them to see if it was in stock before you ordered something? They are busy, but they take care of people CS wise on the civilian LE/civ side.

Do you have a link to video you've taken using the gopro?  Curious how it looks from that vantage point.

Yeah, but I removed the NVG mount from the helmet.

Admittedly, the mount for the GoPro is about 2 degrees off-center. It's close enough that I don't want to try to get the adhesive mount off.

The light came with a helmet mount when I bought it. I doubt it's designed to be attached to my helmet in the way that it is, but it's secure and works fairly well.

The bungee is for your PVS14 to pull it back against your face so it doesn't wobble.

Crye doesn't stock JPC's in m81 pattern. If they did, I would buy one.

I spoke with them and a few other companies at SHOT, they weren't interested in doing anything for anyone that wasn't a Coolguy.

That is awesome, Twins! I need a counter weight and want a light of some kind.  I was really surprised how well I could use my Aimpoint and Spar red dots with the PVS14.  What are you looking to do next?  Any helmet comfort modifications?

I'm trying to find a good way to put a lanyard on it right now. No comfort mods in the plans, its pretty dang comfortable to me.

If anyone is looking for a budget rig or loaner, there is an ACH in the EE with a bunch of extras for only $50 + shipping. Not mine, and I don't know the seller just thought I would pass on a good deal to the NV bros. I don't think you will find cheaper ballistic protection.

I don't know why it does that. Some folks see it fine, others don't. I also have trouble viewing images that it's obvious others can see fine.

lol. Still digging some of those out of my ops core, but I'm moving it to backup status now that I have this:

Did you know you can convert a stock ACH H nape in to an X nape just by removing the H nape pad, releasing the straps all the way out and crossing the rear straps? I am sure everyone in the world knew that you could, but I didn't so I figured someone may learn from me too.

SO MUCH BETTER, don't even "need" a counter weight pouch anymore though it is still there to hold batteries. I used to have to crank the straps down so hard my head would hurt after a half hour, now its just lightly snug and much more comfortable.

So a long journey later I am done with my helmet setup. About a month and a half ago I bought an Airframe. Initially I thought I bought a ATX, but turns out it was just a regular (relief for me). However, the ordeal was it had a 4-Hole drill pattern (lame).

Bought it used:

New paint:

It took me forever for someone to tell me if the Team Wendy Cam-Fit screws would work with the Airframe's ARC rails. Turns out they do. Also, Ops Core mailed me new screws too. They are tricky little screws to track down.

This last weekend, my ANVIS mount crapped out again. Luckily Sentinels have the battery on them.

So in comes this guy: Not a lot of good info on it but based on the description I knew it would do what I wanted to (give me a shroud for a Wilcox Mount).

Next, the Wilcox G24:

More Wilcox G24 on 4 Hole:

Full Setup:

All in all, quite pleased with the way this turned out. I was looking at spending $400-$500 on a SAM Mount because I had this ANVIS mount crap out twice. The first time, I was able to take it apart and get it working again. This time no such luck. I am tired of messing with the mount and went the Wilcox route. I will miss the auto shutoff on the flip up.

After screwing up my paint job several times, I found a helmet cover on sale so I bought it. I also finally got a cheap IR laser/illuminator. And I got some patches for cheap on ebay.  I got one blank flag patch, and ordered some BFL stickers. I'm hoping I can turn it into a BFL flag patch.

Couch,

What's the "cheap" IR laser?  Looks good by the way.
