I just recently went on a gear buying spree. Bought a chest rig, pistol belt, assault pack and ruck.
The crap our unit issued sucks (at least we get money for training).

Same here, same BN as you I believe. (Ascend to Victory! )

I went with a metric boatload of Tactical Tailor gear. MALICE v3 Ruck, 2 piece MAV chest rig, and TT pouches.

Had my Camelbak BFM assault pack a good while now too.

Also currently spying a purchase of an Exped Aries 2 pack tent from REI as well for good measure.

I'd post pics, but who doesn't know how sweet Tactical Tailor gear looks, plus I'm waiting on additions to be delivered.

EDITED TO ADD: Wow you guys in NH still have those old foam sleep pads? Holy crap I thought we had it bad in Maine...

Hooah!

We do have the old foam ones. As for my gear, I just did the mix and match. Lots of different brands there.

The MOLLE belt is the ATS war-belt. It's incredibly comfortable. I went hiking (my 2nd duty for most of this gear), with the old school belt for my handgun. I wanted to die by the time I got off the mountain. I went hiking last week with the warbelt, and it was 180 degree difference. I highly recommend the war belt.

are you running any suspenders or anything with the warbelt? What does everyone do to keep it from flopping around? For my work belt we have belt keepers, but don't see much in the way of provisions for belt keepers on these war belts? Would like something like these war belts but am concerned about them flopping/sliding around when trying to draw etc

I'm using the ATS suspenders. There's no flopping around at all on the belt. I'm not sure what you're asking about for belt keepers. The ATS warbelt allows the user to use any belt they want on the inside. I'm using the ATS duty belt as well, it has velcro on the inside of the belt and matches with the velcro on the warbelt so it all stays together, no sliding. I wear mine hiking and have never had any problems with movement.

My belt is over at my new place other wise I'd post some more detailed pics of the inside and how it's set up.

As an aside, I bought that medical kit (Hawkepaks) and hung it from the belt cause I couldn't think of anywhere to put it. (I have the HSGI bleeder kit, but the Hawkepak is more of a med kit while the bleeder is a trauma pouch that goes with my handgun). I thought the pack would just dangle, and probably get annoying while I hiked. I used it on a hike yesterday and didn't even notice it.
