One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die..

Built with US-made billet machined receivers, precision machined hammer, disconnector, safety components and gas system. It has a charging handle integrated into the handguard. AR-15 grips and stocks can be attached to the receiver. With the removal of two take down pins, the receivers come apart like a G3 so you can work on the fire controls, etc. Here's some footage from the Sportsman Channel of a few of them in action. HELI-HUNTER TRAILER When I have some more time, I'd like to try out some different hardware configurations, finishes and so on. For now, I just want to see the first 50 sets of receivers that have been machined built into complete guns. Here's the receiver take down: SHORT ANIMATED ILLUSTRATION OF THE TAC-12 A1 ETA: sorry about the renders, but they're geometrically and mechanically accurate and much more clear than the photos I get out of my iPotato. |

I always like the look of Wood & Steel Shotguns, they just look right too me. |

Thanks very much, I'm with you. I never wanted just another black 870. Side-by-side weight comparison with the other gun on the table, mine felt easier to shoot, more stable.

Aside from the metals used to machine them and a couple of springs, the guns are pretty much made from scratch right here in the USA. Those things are sexy!!! Details? It's a semi-automatic design that has a mechanism for recoil operation which is similar to the Remington 1100. It's very easy to work on and doesn't require a lot of tools or training to perform routine cleaning and so forth. The fire controls are arranged in a configuration that is like an AR-15. The components for the LPK are manufactured using high quality materials (many of which are heat treated and carefully finished where strength and surface characteristics are critical). The receivers are machined from T6 aluminum billet and the accept AR-15 grips, triggers and stocks. The take down procedure is comparable to a SCAR or HK91 in that there are two pins which hold the receivers together. The stock, handguard, barrel and recoil system are attached to the upper receiver. The handguard is outfitted with an ambidextrous, non-reciprocating charging handle. This feature allows the shooter to maintain their cheek weld and sight picture while operating the firearm. Since the handguard is attached to the upper receiver, it doesn't make any direct contact with the barrel. There are two different models: a light recoil version for 3-gun and sport use and another version which is made to handle game loads. A variety of accessories and internal parts are also available for customizations. They are not made for "magnum" loads, but will shoot just about any other 2¾ inch shells. The standard magazines have either a 5 round or 10 round capacity. Here's another one of my drawings showing some details on the other side. |
