Who offers that kind of work, and what would one expect to pay? |

Who offers that kind of work, and what would one expect to pay? It's not a compound radius, just smaller Vs the standard .250 radius. EGW and S&A are two that make specific .220 radius grip safeties. I would imagine standard grip safety fitting rates apply here. Depends on who does the work. Springfield custom shop should be able to get you fixed up. |

Im going to try with my Range Officer to at least capture the spirit of the meusoc. Might not be post worthy here but it'll be good enough for me until I can do a full clone. As such I will be asking questions here.

All of the meusoc pictures show the pachmayrs without a little pinkie extension, but the ones I found have a pinkie extension. Is this a new or old thing or did I get the wrong ones?

So I know it wouldn't be accurate but has anyone done a MEU(SOC) using a stainless springfield as a base gun? I really like the way they look but I'm a sucker for stainless....

GunnyG, are your two .45 ACP Ammo cans the standard 50 can or the Fat 50 can?

Is that what is issued with these pistols? A483?

My guess is one of you guys scooped it up a while back on Gunbroker I just decided to do something different with this one. I fell in love with the look of the early variant in Tom Clancy's book so I decided to make myself one, Caspian slide and all. Ben did a terrific job on the sights. By far the best GI dovetail option. |

Any insight as to the correct version to use? Looks to me like the standard Caspian cocking serrations (slightly wider spacing) and the same for the FCS. Thanks for any help... ETA: Here's an example from earlier in the thread, although this version still has the King's thumb safety: http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn216/cxl17/m45_usmc_zps6802894b.jpg~original View Quote That is a Caspian slide with standard Caspian serration. here is one more photo show Ed Brown wide ambi thumb safety and close up on the slide serrations. |

Try EGW. They sell serrated arched w/ lanyard loop & Flat mainspring housing w/lanyard loop and Flat serrated mainspring housing, etc. Need to contact them and see how much to serrated a Flat mainspring housing w/lanyard loop?
|
|

Please post up pictures when you get the mainspring housing in. I had/ have one of the unfinished Caspian housings that came serrated and with the lanyard loop. It was the only Caspian part I was ever disappointed with given that the hole was crooked. Hopefully they've gotten better.

How hard is it to find GI frames or older Springfield slides for sale by themselves? What are good places to look for such things and what are reasonable prices these days for such components?

Next to impossible on the frames. I bought a complete GI pistol that was actually in good condition and then dismantled it and only kept the frame and sold the rest of the parts as a complete parts kit. The slide I just got lucky and found it on ebay.

not mine ,but there is a used Remington rand on gunsamerica.com right now at $750.00 it has after market sights and aftermarket grips. after selling ogg the slide ,barrel and internal frame parts ,you should only be in it for maybe 450 bucks. as for springer slides keep an eye out on thr EE I just sold a milspec slide and got an operater bare slide there for a future m45a1 build. check out calguns forums, gunsamerica.com,gunbroker.com/ etc. by the way Lear60 those guns are TRUE PERFECTION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
