One of my grail guns has always been a "custom" gun built on a Colt Series 70.  Here is the base model that I picked up a couple weeks ago NIB, and just got done cleaning.  Not in a hurry to send it off, haven't even decided who I want to work on it, but I plan on spending a lot of range time with it in the meantime.

Ya, I'm not to sure about the TFOs since I like a solid back sight, but I'm definitely getting rid of the Crimson Traces.

I'm in the process of removing the pitting from the left side of my Detonics Combat Master's slide. The finish was trashed due to living in my friend's waistband for almost 17 years, but it will be getting a new life soon. A steel straight/flat edge, some 1500 grit sandpaper and oil, and some gentle elbow grease. Right now it sort of looks like a MEU(SOC) clone that was left in the dryer for too long.

Sure I'll post some better ones up later this week. My wife is a professional photographer so I'll try to con her into taking them. I'm more of an anti-photographer.
I was really on the fence about spending the money on this gun, but I am loving it. I can't wait to shoot a match with it. I almost shot Heavy Metal 3 Gun with it this weekend, and really wish I would have. The pistol stages would have been fine with a 1911.

As promised. Still not great pics, but I at least upgraded the lighting . The wife is feeling a bit under the weather so bugging her to take pictures isn't the best idea. I can't tell you how much I am loving this gun. I had wanted a Springfield Pro for a long time. I can't imagine any recent future where I would be able to afford on, so this is my po' mans Springfield Pro. Its a great shooting pistol all thanks to Steve at Rose Action Sports!
