Was wondering what experience you might be able to relate regarding aftermarket mags.  I just got some Ramline 15 rd mags for my SIG.  I haven't tried them yet.  

I want to clean them up first.  Any suggestions for best cleaning and lubrication on these mags?

I usually clean and lube my mags with the same stuff as my pistol. Usually Hoppes #9, and either gun oil or break free.

Ramlines for anything should be used just for practice. If the ones you own have the rivet by the feed lip, they will work with the base plate off, because the follower contains the spring...sorta like a tape measurer. If they create problems, dont toss them out. I salvaged two stainless steel ones for a Browning 9MM by drilling out the rivet and adding a conventional follower, spring and base pad. The heat treat on these seems good, unlike the soft triple K, USA and Pro-mag after market brands. Anyway, the dirt can still get into the follower/spring assembly, after a time and I soak them in kerosene, working the follower up & down, then using air to dry them out. A coffee can of K-1, an old toothbrush and some rubber gloves...I even soak complete handguns, grips removed, this way too. All the crud settles to the bottom, leaving the kerosene clean. (may prefer a safety solvent if flammability is an issue) Sticker shock on real Sig mags?

I love mine for the BHP and wish I had bought more.

Just got back from the range.  I tried out those Ramline mags, so now I can vote on my own topic.  They're ok, but they have some problems.  They tend to jam quite a bit.  I will definitely ONLY use them for practice at the range.  I would not want my life depending on whether or not they will work properly.  As usual, you guys were right!

Getting some factory 10 rounders that work, to me, is better for practice than 15 round Ram-lines that dont, IMO. Maybe Santa will bring you a few?

I'm thinking you're probably right.  I'll have to send Santa a letter.
