Glock's & the FN HP, why? Because the hits in the ten ring don't lie.

I'm a Beretta fan. For a good twenty years, from the late seventies to the late nineties, Beretta 9's were all the rage. Plenty of press from movies like lethal weapon, and the adoption of it by the armed forces put it on center stage.
However, I think it's time of dominance passed several years ago. There are a lot of Beretta haters out there, but its acceptance by American shooters opened the door for foreign companies to bring their high-caps over knowing there was already an established market. Think about it...if we hadn't accepted the Beretta as the S and later F, FS models would we have Glocks, Sigs, H&K's, Kahrs, FNs and others here today? A Beretta 92 is the only firearm I have I'm not willing to sell/trade. |

I have a 1911 and a Beretta 92FS (old style, before all the plastic).
Get both! Av. |
I have "a lot" of 1911s and one Beretta wanne be. [PT-99] No comparison which one I shoot better. Or, like better.

Sig all the way. Love my 220 and would never part with it. I had a Beretta 92G Elite 1 and traded it. It had tons of custom work done to it and was extremely accurate but I hated the way it fit in my hand. It was an exceptional piece, but just not for me. I traded it for a new Aimpoint CompM2, ARMS #22M68 mount, and a A2 Plus mount. Didn't care too much for the 9mm cartridge either. MJD

Big time 1911 fan...points naturally, can't beat the single action trigger, safety is easy to use and intuitive, simply an ergonomic pistol.
Love Sig Sauers (P226 namely) for durability, accuracy, but have mixed views of the decocker location. HK USP...I'm new to these, but am beginning to change my opinions concerning plastic framed pistols (i'd call it polymer, but "plastic" sounds so derogatory). USP's safety/decocker on the variant 1 is winning me over (close to the 1911 in operation). It's accurate as hell, the grip angle works better for me than glock's, and I'm sure it could take any punishment I can throw at it. Not to mention 12+1 rounds of 40 caliber lead is comforting. |
1) Colt 1911 (for American lineage, accuracy, single action trigger)
2) HK USP .45 3) Beretta 92FS . . . 742) Glock .40 But since my agency is switching to Glocks, and I'm an armorer and range instructor, they are my new number 1. |
I don't know...I guess I like the ones I own the best: Kimber TLEII, .45cal, Sig P229R, .40cal, S&W 686 4", .357mag and my Ruger Vaquiro, .44mag
Sig 226, BHP, SA 1911, S&W M19....etc. I like all the guns I own for their differences and for different reasons. All are dependable, accurate and fit MY hand.
I think those are the three things that make the perfect gun for someone. |

hipower fits my hand likes its a natural extension and points dead on. Beretta's are too big for my hands with a long pull.
I like HK SIG and Glock Handguns the best.
I am not a 1911 fan, I sold my only 1911 a few months ago. But I will buy another 1911 someday maybe I will warm up to them. For now my HK P7M8 and P9S are my favorite handguns. |
I like Glock. It points more naturally than any other pistol I have had. I actually like the trigger. I have the 3.5# connector and the polish job done and it shoots just great for me. I also like the very low bore axis on Glocks. It helps to reduce the felt recoil. YMMV

1911's and Glocks. Consistant, short, trigger pull every time, for me, is all. Both feel fine in my hand and I shoot both just as well as the other. Any future pistol purchases will have to be either single action or a Glock-like action.

I like my Taurus 24/7 9mm it fits my hand and is accurate I am the one that needs training. The trigger takes some getting use to but overall a nice weapon for a good price.

+1 Only other gun I would consider is a USP since it can be carried cocked and locked. |
I gotta' say, the USP compact fits my hand like a well-worn glove! I just can't get over the crappy trigger! |
I like the look and feel of my 70's series Gold Cup and Beretta 92FS
EAA Witness... 10mm Fulll size frame, compact slide.. Full power ammo = a hand numbing good time!!!
no, they bumped me from GD to here and the poll disappeared... |

I can still see the poll. |

It is hard to say. I did not vote because I like my Beretta 92 and .40 couger as much as anything but like others as much as them.
My Favorites are 1. Glock 2. CZ 3. Springfield 1911 & XD 4. Beretta 5. EAA Witness (laugh if you want) |
Well, in a pissant caliber I like the CZ75, in a real caliber I go with 1911.........
Occasionally I will go to the Dark side and go HK in .45. I hate the feel of damn Glocks, and really dislike the feel of Beretta handguns |
1911s for shooting fun at the range
SIGs for serious carry and protection |
As long as its not polymer or alloy framed, I will buy it. Beretta has aluminum on it, but I can shoot it because it balances well, at least better than an alloy sig in my hands. That kills most modern handguns from the equation, makes selection simple. If I were to put my top 3 choices in order, it would be 1911, BHP, then a 92 series.
I like Berettas. They aren't my favorite, especially the too-large 92FS, but my Compact 96 is one of the last guns I'd part with. I'm not a SIG or HK guy, and have moved away from Glocks.
I'd say the XD is my current favorite in the double-stack plastic frame category. |

Berettas are fine. Glocks are fine. Smiths are fine. 1911's are fine. But I am in LOVE with my USP tactical. Im not saying its the best but it is the best for me.
