The CZ polymer offering looks intriguing but not available yet.

Walther PPQ did it for me. My G19 is sold and long gone and I could not be happier. There is nothing a G19 does that a PPQ does not do a better job of in my experience.
I still have my Glocks and sometimes carry the M19, but the last year or two I have gotten into M&Ps. I now have a BG, 2 fs 9mm (1s a2.0) a 45compact, and now 2 Shields (9&45) I also picked up a M629 and a 422.
the Glocks ain`t going anywhere, but for now they are on the backburner. |

Problem is that it's not just the gun. It's the everything else you need to effectively use that gun that you have to also replace.
It's just too damn expensive to really expand the types for the same caliber pistol that does the same job...and already does that job pretty darn well that really ties me to the Glock. |
Something that is reliable feels really good in the hand and 20$ factory mags.
Still have my Glock and love them.
But P229 legion is an awesome looking, feeling and shooting gun. Cz PO9 is a great shooting pistol. I've had just about everything under the sun but those 3 companies put out products I really like. |

For me, it was the VP9. Still have all my GLOCKS, though. No plans of getting rid of them.

Still have and use my Glocks. Picked up a couple M&P's. 9mm Shield and a 9mm M2.0.

Probably an STI 2011. Everything else I do, a Glock is the right tool.
I love my Glocks but I also love my CZ75 SP01 pistols, Sig P226/8, and HK P7. While I own more Glocks than anything I own a large variety of other pistols.

The day CZ makes a 10mm(97b, come on already!)anything(not Dan Wesson). I'll drop Glock the next day.
I'm not tied down to any single pistol model type, size, or caliber
Nothing would, I have no complaints so no need to look elsewhere. I am not saying Glock is the best, they have covered my needs for 20years without issue so.....

After shooting a Sig P320 I ordered one. When it gets here this week I'm going to put a bunch of rounds thru it and if I still like it as much as I do now it will likely replace my G19.4 as my carry. I doubt I will get rid of my Glocks after using them for almost 20 years, but they will see less use.

The VP9 made me toss my glocks to a grip shaping place for parts.
Superior ergonomics, better accuracy, more reliable, and best striker trigger I ever pulled. |
At one time I had a pile of different 9's beretta sig hk glock 1911. I standardized on glock simply because I shoot gssf matches and for the roles I use a 9 for the glock fit the bill. Had it not been for gssf I could have just as easily stuck with one of the others. All modern production 9's show similar performance regarding reliability and accuracy for the most part ( though my glocks were a hair more reliable and the beretta and sig a hair more accurate ) but essentially a toss up. I am the sort of shooter not firmly wedded to any platform: give me something that runs and puts bullets where I want them and I am happy

That's easy, the HK MK 23. I know it is a beast and other pistols can do the same thing but there is just something sexy about it.

I was totally done with Glock and their BTF bullshit but the 43 has proven to be a super little pistol, so I own those.
I have a P2000 and thinking about a VP9 for a full size. |
If I could find a steel/alloy SAO double stack the same size as a G19 with the same capacity, I'd consider it.
None.
You can't better Glock Perfection. And incase anyone cares, Colt is the only choice for an AR. . |
I have a vp9 and if it was the same size as a 19 I might have gone all in.
With the availability of parts for Glock vs something new? Ain't happening.
The S&W M&P ended Glocks for me and I haven't gone back. The p320 even further solidified my Glock hate.

I haven't found a handgun to get me off Glock yet, if I had I would have swapped out. Maybe if the VP9 featured a push button mag release and 20$ mags I'd change out my Glocks. |

For striker fired handguns I was a Glock Only guy for 20 years owning numbers of various models in 9mm, .45 ACP and .357 Sig. That is until I bought two Gen 4 Glock 19s. Both hammered my face and shooting glasses relentlessly with hot empty cases every single magazine full. After the expenditure of a lot of ammo, time, frustration and dollars chasing a solution I finally found a fix for both. As someone else alluded to, as a long time Glock owner I had an investment in magazines, holsters, expensive sight pusher, etc. Had it not been for the dollars invested in those things I would have dumped both troublesome G19s.
During that time I was so irritated I started branching out for other brands of polymer striker handguns. First up were a couple of M&Ps and an FNS-9 followed by a number of others from various manufacturers. Guess what? I found that for actual shooting I prefer most of them to my Glocks. I still have 5 Glocks that are with me forever. I still shoot them and the G43 is my hot weather carry gun. But there won't be any more Glocks brought into my house. My other polymer strikers have proven themselves to be just as reliable, feel better in my hand and while shooting and are just as accurate as the Glocks. And none of them have hit me with a hot empty even once. I no longer trust Glock like I did before the Gen 4 models came out. This is called voting with your dollars. OP, that's my answer to you question about what got me off the reservation. |

Been playing around with many many guns over the last 20 years, but still can't get rid of my Glocks.
Since being married and raising a family I have trippled my Glock inventory (9mm only). Sold or traded all the odd ball Glocks, only kept the 17s and 19s. Don't see anything that will replace it in my near future. Sigs come close, but mags as to expensive. Don't get me wrong, I still have have and enjoy owning and shooting other guns, but Glocks are the go to in my household. |

Glock is the AR of the pistol world. Everyone makes stuff for it. Leaving a Glock and adopting something else is like leaving an AR and adopting a SCAR or ACR.
Glock does it for me perfectly. Been doing it like that since the 1990s. That fact that HK, Sig, Beretta, Walther, Steyr, Ruger, CZ, S&W, and even Remington are making clone shows that the original plastic fantastic was right all along. I'm glad new folks have choices but I'm sticking with Glock. |

Quality retention holster options for guns besides glock... Looking at you Safariland.

I don't really see myself switching unless another type of firearm or ammo is invented. I'm too invested in glocks and can't find a reason to switch.
I'll be the first to admit other guns feel better in my hand, but I've shot glocks since I was a kid and shot 97-100 when I did police quals. I've had 2 failures: one from a light charged reload experiment and one fail to cycle because my slide was against a barricade during a shoot. |
