After multiple people asking over the past few years, I finally made a quick video showing s little of the process I use to restore a gun. This video details removing minor surface scratches and dings. It also details reshaping some small parts such as the cylinder release.

It is a short video that shows some very basic techniques that can be used by anyone without needing special tools are materials.

Awesome video, thanks for sharing . What kind of polish compound do you use to remove the sandpaper marks?

Looking forward to your next installment

If I am going to leave it brushed I just use a finer sandpaper. If I am going to polish it I use Mother's Mag Polish.

On a brushed stainless S&W, 1500+ grit and oil to knock out the minor stuff. Grey scotchbrite, used lightly, will match the original finish pretty well.
