Yes. Hence the "too heavy for daily carry" comment.

It's really a great shooter though, never in my life have I shot anything with that kind of trigger. Very, very nice.h=85%

This one is courtesy of one of my local P.O.S gang-bangers. Check out the custom serial #
It was used earlier in the evening to shoot three other P.O.S gang-bangers. One female took a gut shot (straight through) the other female took one in the thigh (straight through) and a male took one in the calf. All Hydra-shoks, all rounds went through the drivers side doors of a 92' olds 4-door before hitting their mark.

Judging from the front strap surface, its a Clark "Meltdown."

Lumpy is correct.....Clark Meltdown.....the front and back strap are hand stippled with a punch (or something else). Awsome gripping texture...but the rest is smooooooth....take care

Dubb, how tightly fitted are the RRAs?

*hi-jack*
My only issue with RRAs is that they are too tight(that and the UGLY grips they use). All the moving pieces are fit like a swiss watch. The slide/barrel lock up is perfect, no effor to unlock it. (I've seen LBs that took a LOT of effort to pull the slide back enough to unlock them) Unless you see one you can't really appreciate what I mean.  There is NO such a thing as field stripping a RRA. You basically need a vice to hold the pistol, while you crank the bushing wrench to turn the barrel bushing. The bushing is fit that tight.  Its hard to agrue with the 1.5" 50yd test target though.

www.adcofirearms.com/images/ec20.jpg

What RRA models are built that tight? I’ve always assumed the Limited Match's were built tight to get that 1.5" guarantee. How many rounds does it take them to break in normally? I don't mind a tight 1911 out of the box, as long as they loosen up after 2-3 thousand rounds.

We need to convince them to make a "field grade" pistol than.  They ARE beautiful guns, but I only own 1911s that run in the muck and can make it through 500-1000rds without cleaning.

I assume either the "National Match Hardball" or the "Elite Commando" are RRA's  "Field Grade" 1911.

Every one is built that tight, RRA build every pistol the same.  Its odd. When I got my "adco 1911" I figured I would have trouble until it "broke in". As soon as I got it I gave it to a friend along with 1K rounds of S&B ammo. He has a range in his garage so I asked him to break it in. 5 days later he gave it back as said its broken in. He didnt have a single malfunction even with it being "brand new" tight.
Its still tight, but its definitely broken in. None of the "moving" parts are tight. I mean they dont wiggle  - they are fit perfect; that doesnt seem to have changed a bit. The HARD part is the bushing, which is TIGHT in the slide to insure one hell of a consistant lock up. As I said, you need to see one. No other 1911 I have seen is built like RRAs.

Wow, I will have to admitt that sounds impressive.  Was the pistol cleaned at all during the thousand round break-in? I've always been impressed with RRA 1911's and have placed a Limited Match on my very short list of pistols to order next year.
