So I picked up a browning hi power and a glock 21 on an ar trade today and I can't find any information on the specific model. The model is a 76c and appears to be silver chromed. I can't find any other info on the pistol and I need help. Also, it has an M stamp along with what looks like a pineapple right above the trigger. Does anyone know anything about this along with a price? Will post pics in the morning. Thanks.

Belgian made in 1976. Condition will have a big affect on value - pictures needed.

Welcome to ARFCOM.  Is that dirt on the right side?  Will it rub off, or is that in the finish?

It's not dirt and it won't get off. If I had to score the condition I'd probably give it a low B-High C

That's nickel, not the Silver Chrome.
SC is a matte finish

Doesn't look too bad, but the chrome is definitely not a factory finish.

All of the factory BHP's I've seen in nickel were the satin nickel / gold trigger models produced from 80-85.  Did FN produce a factory nickel in a 76C?

No way that anyone that knows anything about the BHP would pay that for a gun with that finish.

I don't think you can use those auctions as a guide.  We're not talking about a 81-85 satin nickel BHP which would command a premium price.  Nor is this a limited edition 1978 centennial model.

It appears to be a 76c with an aftermarket nickel finish in fair condition.  If it were excellent I would say $500 because it's not a very good looking finish to start with.  In current condition I would say $300 because most would rather have one of the current crop of surplus guns.

Yea.. I have one as well though mine has the beer can sights, walnut grips, and gold trigger still.  While I'm not usually a fan of a nickel finish, the 81-85 satin models are really great looking BHP's.
