I know it's not stainless.
Just picked an old school one up today, and I'm curious about it's finish. ETA: I'm also curious about the finish on other non-stainless parts, such as the mag release. |

The frame is anodized aluminum.

Older inox guns are type 2 anodized but there was a run done about 10 years ago that had a gray paint over raw anodizing. Those didn't hold up well at all and they've gone back to anodizing.

I've seen a pretty wide number range so the best way I've found is by sight. If you can post a close-ish pic of your frame I'd be able to tell what finish it has.
