I've got a P226 Combat.  Love the gun, but can't stand the seam down the backstrap that moves with grip tension.  I know Hogue makes G10 grips, but they also have a seam down the blackstrap and I've heard they do the same thing by moving.  Any fixes?

I have g10s and can't feel movement but if that really bothers you then the best thing to do would be to get the e2 grips kit from sig, those are one piece but you have to repalce some parts with the "e2" parts, that said it comes as a kit and not just as a grip.

The only non two piece grips I know of without the seam are Sig E2 grips. $75 for the E2 upgrade kit on their website

Hmmm....   lets see. I have the following P226 P220 P228.  All with seams. All solid. No movement.

I think it's something in your water.

P226 and P228 same thing.  My buddies P226 P220 P227 do not move either.

OP are your grip screws tight?  Are the grip panels damaged?

I would like a link to those grips please!  I have walnut grips but they make the grip much thicker than the plastic ones.

Thanks.

I've always put blue Loctite on the screw threads, never had issues.

Perhaps make sure your grips are on tight (i.e. the screws at tight) then use a piece od sandpaper to smooth-out the seam in the back?

Just at thought.

I find my Hogue G10 Piranhas to be AWESOME by the way….

Used the Sig factory grips for a couple years, never had the issue you are talking about, but recently switched to the E2 grip, and love it.

It's a one piece grip, similar to the S&W 3rd generation style, wraps around and then snaps into place.  Very comfortable, thinner and with a smaller grip, and since it's one piece, no seam to bother you.

In addition, no grip screws to rust, come loose, or get lost.
