So what dept just ditched their P228s?
|
|
I don't know, are you seeing some for sale? Let us in on the deal, please.....
|
|
Not sure how many PDs use or have used P228s but a bunch have and do use P226s.

If there are trades speak up Oh yeah, the M11 with the military and NCIS and others use them. I meant local PDs and I have never seen a city, county, authority, or state LEO with one as a duty weapon. That WOULD be cool as shit to have for patrol duty. |

Okay OP, make with the link.
Are you perhaps talking about the M11-A1? It has P228 grips but is really a P229. There is a NIB P228 that is very early manufacture with cardboard box that is currently bid at $1325.00 Damn, I had no idea. I have a NIB P228 that is stashed in the safe. Didn't know they would bring that much. |

Just in case anyone is interested, CDNN has quite a few previously owned P226Rs and P229s, mostly .40 and .357 SIG, but also a decent P226R in 9mm.

If they had any of the P228s, I would have scarfed them all up when I started buying some P226Rs preowned from them. |

I sold my 228 during the panic. I've been regretting selling it for a while now. I liked that gun.
|
|
Theres a dealer on gunbroker selling them for $435; he's sold 6 in the last 24hrs. I bought the first one listed. They have 30 or so, from some dept in New Jersey, he wasn't sure which. Tritium still lit too.
|
|
Damn OP why you do this to us? LOL Now I am going to have to try to sneak and buy a 400 gun without the sammich maker finding out.
People who have never had a 228 will never understand. |

Yeah... If they have Mags for my crappy state this may be a done deal. Might have to put off the G29 for a bit longer.

More then a few local departments issued 228s but this was years ago. Most agencies that issued them either got rid of them or traded them in for newer 229s a while ago. If a department still has some they are probably very well used by now unless they just found a few that got lost some where. |

I already have a NIB P228 from the Bud's deal a while ago, but I'm a weak man......I got 2 of these used ones.

I just don't want to buy for the Buy It price and then have to deal with them to NOT ship the mags and be out the mags for full price. Might as well find someone here that would buy one for me and keep the mags for their trouble.... Not many options left unless I can contact someone. And that won't be until they open tomorrow as things are going. |

Put me down for one

If they had that on the top of the slide I don't think he would've been unsure where in jersey they came from. I'll find out next week I suppose.

Well odds are I'm out... Just got off the phone and the guy that run the Auction sales is out till Monday. The guy on the phone couldn't answer an questions other than they are LE trade ins. No extra details on from who, etc.

Meh. They could be marked Eric Holder's Social Justice Warriors Dept. for all I care..where am I going to find a low-mileage P228 with night sights for $435?

They could have noted that on GB. Probably why they are $435. I will still keep mine. Geez, what kind of schools they got in joisey where they have to carry P228s? |

Mine should arrive at my FFL on Tuesday. I'll post pics when I get it. The idea of dept of education markings is pretty amusing.

What the hell. My wife's been wanting a 228 to get with her w German 226.

How hard is it to rid the gun of a magazine disconnect? I heard there are two versions of the mag disconnect. One has the frame altered and the other has a different breech block?

Coles Dist has some pre-owned P228 at a good price

Crap! Is there a way to cancel the NJ educator model for the Coles? I'd rather not have one with a mag disconnect and tattooed with NJ whatever on it and feel that if that was on the listing I would not have bid on it.
