In a recent thread I'd mentioned I was looking for a new Glock to use my GSSF Blue Label coupon on and to go with my G17. Of the choices I've pretty much decided on a G26.

However, I've been interested in the G30s also. At the rental counter today I noticed they had a regular G30 and a G36. I was surprised at how easy shooting they both were and how very little difference in recoil there was between the two. I had expected the 36 to be pretty snappy, but the main difference of note to me was just the smaller grip.

The only issue with the 30 was several btf and head. This was my first experience with this having shot many different Glocks.

BTF and head?

I find the grip on a 30 (I have the standard frame) seems uncomfortabley large , kind of like holding a brick. Ialso know I shoot it very well and suspect that is because the large grip forces me to hold it exactly the same every time.
My buddies 36 feels better but I don't shoot it near as well as my 30. Neither does he .

Why the caliber change why not a G34 or G19?

If 45 is what you seek the G30s or G21.4 would be my suggestion.  The 36 is only slightly smaller than the G30s with very low capacity.  Even the G30s is the same size as the G19.

I'll probably stick with 9mm, just wanted to try out a .45acp.  The 19 is probably my least favorite Glock, the 34 didn't shoot any better for me than my 17.

If I do get a .45, a G21 or 30s would be it . I shot the 36 as I'd read the 30s had noticeably more recoil than the plain 30 due to the lighter slide.

I own a 30SF and have shot my buddies 30s and honestly the difference is negligible.  I do feel as though when my 30SF starts running dry the balance of the pistol feels off compared to the 30s my SF feels kind of top heavy and clunky.  I wish my SF was a S but I got for a good deal many years before the S was ever dreamed up.

I like the 34 more than the 17 only because it looks bad ass.  I shoot my 17 and 34 the same also.  I like the 19 but if I had to choose the 17 would be my baby but the 19 conceals that much better for me.

Try the 30s if you get a chance, I picked one up and love it. Only negative I have for it is that its almost impossible to seat a full mag on a loaded chamber.

Get a 30S, you will be very happy and you will never look back and regret it. I have one and carry it. It is one of my favorite carry guns now, and I was/am an old 1911 guy!....<><....:)

I carry a 30s and it's a great pistol.

If you want a 45, then you won't regret getting one.

Had both.  Now have the G-30 only.  I can use the G-21 mags.  My single stack 45 is a Kimber Ultra TLE 4 inch bbl.
