Oh, snap!

I will spread the word on this one! Can you give us some more details? Any other Kalashnikov-based items in the works?

Sounds great.

Not that you need my advice, but here it is anyway:

The first American company that makes an Aimpoint mount that sits as low as possible over the top cover and attaches by way of the rail on the left side of the receiver will make a lot of money.

Does that include the M-92 Yugo Krink?

I second that!

Not that you guys want my advice either, but....

I would prefer a rail system that only extends as far as the standard plastic upper & lower handguards, and that mounts as low as possible over the gastube (between the upper handguard caps). Additionally, if you could devise a way to extend the 3 & 6 o'clock side rails further back toward the receiver, that would be a BIG plus.

Looks like good times ahead for us AK owners!!!

Now I see the necessity for the flats for the under folder to work. Consider making a version for NON-underfolders with the fully extended side rails??? A version that does not extended past the handguard caps, as I described above would be the most practical in my opinion. The extended top rail on the one pictured seems like it would really unbalance the front end of an AK if one was to mount the optic that far forward....

Make one for the  SIG 556 too, while your at it.

Mount on the rear of the lower for a QD Uncle Mik's swivel, similar to the LaRue M4 rail. I't nice to be able to setup a 2 point adj sling close to the receiver.

Will these rails work with all Krinks (including Russian made)? I have been looking for a good way to mount a dot sight on a Krink for a long time. I really like your idea!

I would like to see an option to mount a Trijicon/Doctor/Burris … dot sight as low as possible on the rails.

Are there any modifications to the gun necessary?

Edited: I would also prefer the top rail to be as low as possible, making it possible to use the open sights.

Mine is another vote for a lower top rail to allow cowitnessing. And can we see a pic with the rail on a fixed stock AK?

Wow looks great! I have your rails on my AR15.

So whens the estimated time of release for the AK's?
I'll definitely pick 1 up.

Can you please show us how they attach exactly? They don't use the same method as standard handguards do they?

Will your rail system fit the Yugo RPK with the heavy barrel?
Thanks!

I too would like to know how it is mounted. And if it will fit a Yugo I'm in for at least one.

I would like to just have the bottom half and keep my Ultimak rail on top, since it's low enough to co-witness.

If you use Scott's setup, you could probably use a Larue SPR-E flipped around backwards for a good scope mounting option.

Taken from this thread:

Quoted:
Our System clamps to the barrel with a universal bracket.   The top rail section is held in place with interrupted lugs and a retaining screw.  This makes it very solid and secure.  The upper rail can also accept our offset rail system.  This will be a way for some to mount that Aimpoint really low and just a bit to the left.   If there is enough interest we could do some without the cutout at 6 o clock for the underfold.

The Krink versions will have the same mounting system.  Just a bit shorter.

We are trying to incorporate mounting systems for the most popular variants.

Anyone here attending IWA?  Stop by and say Hello, We will be there Hall 5 booth 215.  With Hogue Europe.

Scott Samson

Quoted:
We will get some pics posted of the mounting system.  The mounting brackets will vary depending on mfg'er.  The rails will be standard.  Call in your orders or email with pics of your rifle with the handguards removed.

Thanks
Scott

That looks real nice.

I'd be tempted to Dremel off the forward part, purely to make the front of the Gas tube visible in profile.  Aestheic, not practical, but I would want to preserve that distinct profile that the AK and SKS have.
