On my Bulgarian AK 74, the firing pin retaining pin is stuck - will not budge. I also have an East German bolthead, and on this one the pin finally came out, after some serious pounding. I've never seen this issue with AK 47 boltheads, just AK 74. What's going on here? Is there a "trick" - other than taking it to a gunsmith : (  ?

Besides the obvious (soaking with penetrating oil before trying to remove it) I've seen posts which state that vegetable oil will free stuck pins. Unfortunately, I can't remember if you're supposed to soak the bolt in oil or boil it.

Normally I leave it in Break her loose... I didn't say soak it inside her...... over night and then try it...
