Joeken has a less than stellar reputation around here and most gun boards.
They have said that they are trying to improve their customer service and image, but I haven't seen it. What's your maxed out price range for getting into an AK? |

you can reference the past threads easily by using the search function on JOEKEN, I could help out and post past threads if that would aid you I would stick to at least getting an Global receiver build kit gun, there are several dealers welcome to the site neighbor! |

Take a look at the WASR-10's out there, and if you can swing it, I think that ORF has some WASR's that they clean up and smooth out the rough edges.
If you can go to around $500, then the Vector AK's are supposed to be some of the best in that price range. Atlantic Firearms has both I believe. Welcome to the Darkside!

my opinion is your best bet is the Vector Arms AK 47 Classic Wood Style for $450 if you didn't want to go WASR

Is JoeKen the only dealer that sells this rifle? I also saw this gun on gunbroker being sold by Diesel Ent . Is this a good gun? Just curious. hanks

some people like the ewbank receivers on other boards, the ewbanks are usually only found with those guys, most of us don't even give them a second thought though, just not an option if you can get Global receiver builds

As I understand it, Joeken Firearms has had problems actually delivering goods and services that they have advertized in the past. (I have not done business with them personally because of all of the negative things that have been written about them.) Proceed with caution young Jedi! For the same price, instead of a parts kit build from a used gun (based on the copy, I assume these are built from the recent batch of used Romy kits) you can get an all-new Romy AK.
Romys are good bargains; been beating the hell out of mine for 5 years. |

I think I should do the review !!! ... I can guarantee some nice quality close-ups of the rifle inside and out ...
Since I've never personally done a deal with joeken (only read his ads) I don't have a dog in this fight ... Totally unbiased Plus ... I'm older and wiser !!!
