I bought a couple of them.  I had a WW 74 a few years ago that was great and I stupidely sold it.  Looking forward to getting them tomorrow and at $500 each they are a no brainer.

I owned one of the late Waffen Werks 74s that I purchased from Classic in August of 2013.  I ran about 2500 rounds through it over the course of about a year and a half without any issues.  Only sold it because I'm a minimalist and don't like unnecessary redundancy.

I spoke out against all the negative press the rifles were receiving.  While it does sound like a few had problems, I believe it was a very small number, they just spoke louder.  I think everyone immediately dismissed them after that.

We'll see I guess, as I'm sure a lot of people are buying these at $499.

My wife will kill me if I buy that.

Still thinking about it.

If I do it'll have to stay in the safe for awhile, I just got into 7.62 and haven't even gotten stocked up on all that yet.

Mine too!  Especially considering I just paid for a trust, Suppressor, and a host pistol for said can.  What's another $500, right?

I just played for a trust too and can't stop buying other junk to afford to put anything in it.

Picked mine up today and took it to the range.

Was very impressed overall. Rifle ran great, only shot 150 rounds of 7n6 but there wasn't a single hiccup using 2 tapco mags.

Ill be able to do more with it once my big box of Bulgarian mags comes in next week.

If they are all like this than $500 is a steal. Considering ordering another if there still there in a few days.

I bought a waffen werks 74 in October 2013. It functioned great, but the sights were really canted. I sent it back to WW and they said they fixed them. I don't think they did anything. The sights still had to be adjusted way to one side. Then with then end of 7N6, I decided to get out of the game. Sold it for what I paid. I thought Waffen werks went out of business, so these must be NOS.

WW did go out of business so these are NOS. However, their assets were purchased by DDI and DDI has committed to honoring WW warranty claims.

That looks great to me.  If I get a painted stock I will probably strip and refinish it.
As long as they have straight FSB I am happy.

I get to pick up mine on Monday. I didn't need another AK74, but for $499 it was just too good to pass up.

Best deal since I bought my SAR-2 brand new for $289 back in '03

I could have bought a sar 1 and sar 2 package deal for 600 otd at a gun show in '03. Each came with two mags. Alas, I was young and poor then. Only got the sar 1. At least I got this one now.

Hey, I remember those days. I bought one at $289 also back then.

Little did we know what would happen to prices after that, huh?

I thought about it, but I just bought a 870 for $250 and one of those PSA 11.5 upper for $270. I never had a 74 before but perhaps the only thing saving me is the fact that I'm not real big into aks. In fact I pretty much hated my saiga 7.62 before I sold it.

OP I  have just one of these on order.

Over on AKFILES.COM on their AK-74 board many have bought them and reported on them and posted pics already.

One guy bought SEVEN of them.

There are some reports of failure to eject because the ejectors are too short (apparently).

People on that report are recommending squeezing the receiver in  a vice to compress in the front of the receivers or simply to weld a little material onto the end of the ejector and file it to final shape.

Although I certainly applaud DDI and Classic Arms for the selling price at $499.99 I still wonder why DDI is building these on the infamous out-of-spec Waffen Werks receivers that led to the downfall of that company.

I certainly would have gladly paid another 100 dollars or so to have one of these built on a  NoDak Spud in-spec receiver.

You guys who have an OLDER Waffen Werks AK-74 that was built on a NoDak Spud receiver are lucky.

Just curious as to who confirmed that these were actually built by DDI AFTER Waffen Werks collapse or simply warranted by DDI due to their obligations after taking over Waffen Werks? I called Classic Firearms to inquire about these guns last year and they had a minimum of 450 in stock. I recently debated ordering one but had a bad feeling Classic was trying to clean house and wipe their hands clean of their old inventory, hence their very blatant instructions to contact DDI with any problems. I have a feeling these are the very same rifles everyone has complained about for the last 2 years.

Hmmm, I'd like to know as well. I'd be in for two as long as I know they're quality builds.

Is everything the same on the two guns (old WaffenWorks and new DDI), such as both having a chrome lined barrel with 1:8 twist?  From my understanding nothing on the gun says DDI so you could be right.

Honestly, one would think that ddi would some how mark these rifles so that they could be identified. Going to have to keep the paperwork on these to prove its not a ww build. I pick up mine tomorrow hopefully.

Decided to try one.  Have heard of a few problems, but most reviews are positive.  Clock ticking down the deal says 2 days 8 hrs 1 min left.  Anyone know if the "Ben" that's on the videos for Classic is the original owner?  He is a good salesman.

Picked mine up today. Way better then I expected. Very impressed with the fit and finish of this rifle. I think I really lucked out on my wood. Looks to be in great condition. Took her to the range and zeroed. Used golden tiger, 120 rounds fired with no issues.

It shouldn't matter, DDI is covering the warranties for WW-built rifles pre-acquisition (provided they're still under warranty).
