There are several models with the enhanced cheek piece but the one pictured, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, looks like a VLTOR stock. www.vltor.com/modstocks.htm The LMT/Crane is one of my favorites: http://www.jtacsupply.com/ar15stocks.aspx Additionally, CAA makes saddles to enhance the regular collapsible stock. . |

Specs? How does the dust cover sight work? Sorry I am brand new to AKs dont know much about them. I like the way yours looks! |

Oh man, please don't convert that Poly, it's worthy of safe queen status. At least, until the import ban is lifted. |
|
|
I have most of the items I need to convert the Poly, I've decided to get real good with my Norinco T56SHTF before I do anything to the Poly. Fear not, the Poly will be kept in the safe with my NIB Norinco T56S-1 |

I bought that receiver cover because of the cool factor. It is very easy to use and fast, just like an AR sight. It fits very tight, no movement. I have not tried to shoot it, so I don't know how well it will hold zero. As long as I can hit the water melon size target at 50 yards with this sight, I am happy.
For the stock, it is a combination of ACE receiver block and Vltor stock kit.

Who makes that sight? |

Where did you get that rail attachment and how do you like it? I want to mount a light to my AK but want to keep it looking somewhat traditional |
|
|
Not sure. I keep a log book on all of my rifles so I know where she hits from 50yrds-500yrds. There is only 2 options for Russian Side mounts, Low and High. The Low drags on top of the dust cover, so that was out of the running. The High had to be used. Good thing is I can remove the cheekrest and use the irons too. |

I'm still a newbie when it comes to firearms. None of my friends/relatives are shooters and so I've pretty much had to learn everything I know about guns myself or from random talk at gun shops. Anyway, that being said here's my work in progress. It's a Romy G with a side-folding stock I picked up off the equipment exchange, and a $40 rail+red dot combo. Nothing super high quality or anything, but it works well enough. I go back and forth between the vertical foregrip and the classic AK one. Still need to put some paracord on the stock though. When I get the money (Read: graduate from college and get a decent job) I'm gonna fix her up real nice and buy an AR-15 as well as another AK...maybe a Lancaster, or possibly an AK-103 from Izmash.

Thanks for the kind words Calicojack |

You can get those I think at K-Var.....I got mine on e-bay believe it or not. It's a UTG tri rail barrel mount. I like it....I've probably shot about 1300-1500 rounds through the gun with the light on there and the mount has never come loose or indicated failure in any other way. It seems solid enough and does not appear to be affected by a hot barrel after, say, 2 or 3 bumpfired mags... |
