Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Big-button forward assist and A2 lower?

Okay, quick question that may be somewhat obvious, but I'm going to ask anyway.

To use a big button forward assist on an A2 reinforced type lower, does it need to have some of the side of the button shaved?  The full button won't clear the reinforced area?

Correct, in order to use a big head FA on an A2 lower you need to make a straight edge on the side that's facing the receiver. It doesn't have to be much but what I do is take a pencil and straight edge and run a line as close to the edge as possible, use a dremel with a cutoff wheel to get that flat edge, then hit it with Super Blue/Cold Blue.
