I am pinning my stock because I live in Massachusetts and a folding or telescoping stock is not legal here. There are a lot of people that have pinned their stocks by drilling holes and adding roll pins.  I didn't want to drill through my brand new stock so I thought a method would be to remove the internals that make it a quick telescoping stock by replacing them with a fixed pin (this is made out of aluminum) and no spring, thus deactivating the adjustment lever. Once my friend with a machine shop comes back from vacation I am going to make another one with a more refined tip on it. I believe this will satisfy the law but I honestly do not know - Do this mod at your own risk. I will probably put a little bit of hot glue between the lever and the buffer tube area to hold the lever from moving around at all. Please let me know what you think of the idea.

very nice job, simple yet effective

Will that allow you to replace the original internals to return it to normal function if you ever move to a free state?

Yes it could be returned to its telescoping state by taking out the roll pin a the bottom and replacing the original parts.

That's ingenious!

No permanent, disfiguring mods to the stock, but disables the functioning.

It can't be legal. Too simple and perfect.

I'll bet you guys could make and sell bunches of these too. Good job.

You should definitely market them.  Mass is one of those states i hate because the have some of the coolest places to hang out but is ran by the libratards

Looks good but won't fly in NY. It must be permanently fixed. Reverting back to original condition would make it non permanent. IIRC the only legal collapsible fixed stocks are really full length A2 buffer tubes pinned and bonded.

Without sounding confrontational, nothing in life is permanent, especially things that man has made. Everything can be reversed engineered and changed by many people. Look at any diy on youtube. A gunsmith can "permanently" attach a muzzle brake, yet they can undo it as well, so what is permanent about that?

That is a great idea, maybe pop off the lever and then you would be pinned and delevered

How do you go about getting the black piece out of the stock. Does the cross pin (not the roll pin) unscrew or does it get pushed out? need more details please.

Great idea xdriver.  To expand on your idea, you could also drill a second hole .800" from the roll pin hole and put the pin in that holds the lever in place back in.  That would make the stock look totally "stock."  No pun intended.

When you pop out the roll pin (careful or the spring will go flying) it takes tension off the vertical internals and also releases tension on the lever pin and it just pulls out. Super easy once the roll pin comes out. Again, the spring pressure is strong so just don't let it fly.
