I ordered 2 of these kits a couple of weeks ago and they were very easy to install and having stainless pins should really add to the life of the reciever by not having the hole enlarge over the years.

Would like to know how the .1555 would work with a JP trigger.

They will take up all the slop and play of the standard trigger pins and make your JP work better due to closer tolerances.

I ordered a set of the oversized and will see how they work.

Denny,

Is there a reason for the center detent groove in both pins?   It would seem that both grooves should be deleted, which would make the pins even stronger for use in the 9mm rifles.

This would allow the J-pin in the hammer to be removed (spring legs will still center the hammer in the receiver), and would aid in faster hammer lock times due to less surface friction of the J spring on the pin. Also by removing the J spring in the hammer, this allows the pin to last longer due to less tension shearing caused by the J spring holding the opposite side of the hammer hole against the pin (the reason that the hammer pin rotates in the first place).

If you need a testing ground for a non-grooved set, I am more that willing to sacrifice my time and a rifle for the cause.

Denny,

Let me put it this way, I am getting ready to build up another 9MM, and would like to know it it's possible to buy the kit without the center grooves on the pins.

Thanks,
Dano

I check the oversize in about 12 hammers and 9 triggers in stock, factory Colt and Bushmaster and they fit fine. One trigger was a little bit tight but after a little twisting it fit too, snug, but I believe that was due to a small amount of finish I could see in the pin hole.

You will have not problems with the oversize pins and factory parts, if the parts are spec.

If the oversizes will fit perfectly and increase tolerances in factory parts, why have a regular size(Which would be under sizes and cause decreased tolerances?)

Thanks. That cleared it up.

Now I understand one is a replacement, the other is an over size to increase tolerances.

It would be nice if it didn't require additional tools to remove these pins.  That's really the only thing that is turning me off to them.  Is there any plans for use of a small thumb-screw or something?  Maybe you can talk me out of caring about needing extra tools? [:)]  Thanks.

There are no special tools required.  Only the two allen wrenches and they are supplied with the pins.

I meant when you're out and about and only have a set of punches, not in the shop with all your tools with you.

After visiting Denny first hand in his shop.......i was so impressed by the KNS pin system along with the RRA NM trigger..........i bought and installed them in my AR.  Like Denny said.......10 mins tops and i had one of the nicest trigger i've ever used.  All my future AR's will have this combination to be sure.

Can the pins be used with out the retainer bar; only using the allen screws?

So the bar fits between the pins and the screwheads? Not outside the pins under the screw heads.

Does it affect the trigger pull or would the "15 minute" trigger job still be nice to do?

Denny's machinegun vault is truely a big boys toys dream.......i could have had months of fun in there.  Maybe next trip we'll have more time and will get a chance to go out and play with you  some Denny.  Thanks again for your hospitality.

I recomend these.

When I did a 80% cast lower the hammer pin hole started to wear after about 500 rounds.

these should be standard equipment for a cast lower.
