Here is my work in progress. I plan on making some changes.
Here is a list of the parts used. SOG lower $125 I bought this when the scare was on and over paid a little but not to much. SOTA 300 bbl. I bought this as a kit when it was on sale for $550 Here YHM 9385A gas block Here Changed out the gas block in the kit for the YHM. Used EO Tech 553 for $325 Here Case was $5, you can't see it but on the other side the nylon was cut when the box was opened. Bought from KSO at the Indy gun show don't know their web site but will add it when I find it. Planning on adding flip up front and rear sights and I think either a Ace Socom stock or a magpul stock. |

Finally finished my FDE build today...
This is how it sat the last month or three... 
Now, looks like this; 
List, Spikes Lower (Spider), Red X Upper, Spikes BCG, PSA LPK w/ Geissle SSA Trigger, PSA Mil Spec dimension buffer tube, spring and buffer (tube will be changed out for a true Mil Spec tube) DPMS Teardrop FA, Laser Edge Studios engraved MagPul trigger guard and Dust Cover, Ergo grip, B5 SOPMOD stock, Raptor charging handle, Black Hole Weaponry barrel (Melonited with Polygonal rifling), Kies Melonited Carbine gas tube, YHM clamp on gas block, YHM Lightweight Free Float hand guard, A2 flash hider (will change for suppressor adapter), MagPul MBUS sights and Eotech EXPS3-0. All I need now are a light and a sling (and the can....). |

Going for a long-range KISS weapon. 20" Bushmaster barreled upper, Magpul stock and grip. x3 ACOG, have a Geissele trigger arriving tomorrow. Lower is a polymer EP Lower. The next one will be a flat earth 16" piston upper with an AimPoint-of-death red-dot and Magpul furniture.

Mutt is the Eotech sporting CQB/bump in the night build and Jeff is the SDM wannabe build shorn with the Acog. I just completed their builds today after finally receiving my barrels yesterday. Hope works in progress are okay!
Recently picked up a Diamondback DB15, and the first thing I did was manually cycle it a couple dozen times, looked for the friction points, and gave them a nice polish so everything slides smoothly. Second change was the trigger, since it was VERY rough and gritty. Some light hand-sanding and polishing later, it's got a nice crisp break and a lighter pull weight. Not too light, not too heavy. Put 50 rounds through it without a single issue, and felt great. Since I can't quite afford the optics just yet (I'll be picking up a set of BUIS soon), I decided to go ahead and paint it. However, the paint I picked up (Krylon Fusion in Hunter Green with a Krylon Matte Finish top coat) ended up being a bit too dark for what I intended. But, inspiration struck, and after a couple hours of improvising I got a stencil going and gave it a logo. Some of you might recognize it. But here is how it sits now Geissele High Speed “Match” Trigger. Red-x arms stripped upper. Stripped Red-X (I think, cant remember) carrier. GG&G GS-1 scpe rail. SHilen 20”, 1:8 twist, Hbar service rifle countour, 4 grove 5R rifling, with pre headspaced bolt $$$. B&L 36X Magpul PRS Troy 15” Alpha rail'. Tubb Target grip. Most parts were acquired during peak panic. Next upper will have a 26" barrel 1:6.5 twist. Mega Billet side charge (acquired) With a Nib side charge modded carrier. As it is I shot this last weekend in a 3x600 F-Class match with another lower with well worked over stock CMMG LPK trigger and a Troy Battle Axe stock. Using Hornady 80g Amax's with only 24 rnds of load work-up. Came in third among 8 TR shooters with a 471 18X mostly shooting 308 bolt guns. To say the least I am very pleased with the rifles performance. Looking forward to some more serious load work with more bullets and the better trigger and stock. |
