They are way too popular to be discontinued. Sure fire is just making smaller runs due to lack of large Mil orders

I just bought one with only the tailcap (no tape switch) a couple of weeks ago. The 300 lumens mini scout. Mounted it on an MOE M-Lok handguard with an IWC mount. Came to $215 with 20% off coupon at Optics Planet plus $40 for the IWC from Earl at IWC. He threw in a t-shirt too!
Still available at OP but I see the one with the tape switch is listed as discontinued. Not sure why Surefire would want to discontinue such a great WML unless it's about the tape switch. http://www.opticsplanet.com/surefire-mini-scout-flashlight-w-z68-click-switch.html |

Talking to a buddy on the horn last night, who is more of an industry insider , informed me that Surefire is laying off many of its employees. Not sure if that has anything to do with the availability or not.
